The highlight of the competition night was the debut of 8 martial artists in the Duong Lang (53 kg) category and the epic battle between two veteran martial artists Tran Minh Nhut (Lien Phong Martial Arts School) and Tran Trong Kim (PFC Phu Quoc), with a bold and ornate style. Martial artist Johnny Tri Nguyen - General Director of Than Vo Viet Nam - shared that in 2025, GMA will have 4 domestic events and 4 international events, promising to bring a strong and fiery martial arts space with the participation of international warriors from Thailand, Cambodia, Laos, Myanmar, and Malaysia.
Right from the start of the tournament, famous fighters such as Le Hoang Duc, Phan Trong Hieu, Huynh Quang Thien, and Bui Xuan Nguyen created dramatic matches. In the Duong Lang category, fighters Huynh Quang Thien defeated Truong Quang Kiet, Bui Xuan Nguyen defeated Nguyen Huu Nghia, Phan Ngoc Hieu defeated Dang Quoc Quang by submission, and Luong Trong Nghia defeated Le Hoang Duc in the first round.
In other weight classes, the matches were also intense with impressive knockout and submission victories. Pham Van Hao (Dat Cang Tiger) defeated Pham Thanh Phong with a technical choke, Pham Kim Quoc Huy (Fighter MMA Da Nang ) defeated Vo Cao Tung (VCT Fight) with a TKO after only 23 seconds, K-pa Thuan (SSC) defeated Ly Duol with an Armbar, and Pham Anh Duc (Leo Jiujitsu) had a successful counterattack against Vu Hai (Tiger MMA).
The final match was also the highlight match, Tran Minh Nhut won by “rear-naked choke” technique (locking the neck from behind) against Tran Trong Kim, ending the eye-catching match night.
Immediately after GMA 04, the Organizing Committee will hold a meeting to evaluate and prepare for GMA 05 - International Martial Arts Tournament called “Convergence of Warriors”, taking place on May 24. This will be a historic event as it gathers many international martial artists from Southeast Asia, contributing to creating a bridge of cultural and martial arts exchange in the region.
