According to ESPN, Manchester United has officially contacted RB Leipzig to negotiate the case of Benjamin Sesko - the Slovenian striker who is emerging as one of the most potential strikers in Europe today.

Leipzig are said to value Sesko at around 80-90 million euros (equivalent to 92-103 million USD). This is a price that is not easy for Man United to overcome in the context of a tight transfer budget. However, the Old Trafford team is still actively negotiating to find a suitable financial solution to convince their Bundesliga partner.

Also according to ESPN, Newcastle United is one of the other clubs interested in Sesko. However, Man United's leadership is confident of winning this race thanks to its reputation and traditional potential.

Sesko – a contract for the future

Benjamin Sesko joined RB Leipzig from Red Bull Salzburg in 2023 and quickly became a mainstay of the German team.

After two seasons, the 21-year-old striker has scored a total of 39 goals in 87 matches in all competitions, including 27 goals in the Bundesliga - an impressive number for a young striker competing in a major tournament for the first time.

Sesko is highly regarded for his ideal physique, versatile finishing ability and intelligent playing style, suitable for the high pressing system of top clubs. If he arrives at Old Trafford, he will be a potential addition to Man United's attack, which lacked sharpness last season.

Hojlund's future in doubt

Sesko's arrival, if it materializes, will put Rasmus Hojlund – a nearly €75 million signing from Atalanta in the summer of 2023 – at risk of losing his starting position.

After an unsuccessful first season in the Premier League, Hojlund is having trouble establishing himself. The Dane is also on the radar of Serie A giants Napoli and Juventus.

While waiting for progress on the Sesko deal, Man United are still in contact with Ollie Watkins (Aston Villa). The 29-year-old striker has proven his ability in the Premier League and is considered a suitable option for the team's current financial situation.
