"I like my players to fight if someone doesn't do their job properly," coach David Moyes surprisingly answered when asked about the situation where Everton players fought, leading to a player receiving a red card and being left with only 10 men from the 13th minute, in the away match at Man Utd's home ground in round 12 of the Premier League that took place early this morning (November 25, Vietnam time).

Accordingly, midfielder Idrissa Gueye carelessly lost the ball in the penalty area, allowing Bruno Fernandes to almost open the scoring with a shot that went close to the post. This situation made center-back Michael Keane angry and scolded Gueye for his careless handling.
Surprisingly, Gueye reacted to Keane by slapping his teammate in the face. Referee Tony Harrington did not hesitate to show Gueye a red card and send him off, leaving the away team with only 10 men very early on.
Despite playing with one less player, Everton still poured "cold water" on the home team Man Utd with the opening goal in the 30th minute thanks to a goal by Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall. All the efforts of the "Red Devils" in the remaining minutes still could not find an equalizer and accepted a "humiliating" defeat right at home at Old Trafford.
Speaking to Sky Sports after the win, manager David Moyes talked about the situation where Gueye received a red card for slapping teammate Keane in the face.
"I think the referee needs to take more time to think about giving a red card in this situation. I understand that according to the rules of the game, if you slap your own player, you can get into trouble.
But on the other hand, I like my players to fight each other if someone is not doing the right thing. If you want that tenacity and resilience to pay off, you need someone to act on it.
"I was disappointed when we were sent off. But we're all footballers, we're all angry with our team-mates. He apologised in the dressing room for being sent off. He praised the players a lot for their performance tonight and thanked them for that. As I said, he apologised for what happened," said manager David Moyes.

Man Utd coach Ruben Amorim also agreed with David Moyes' point of view when he said that teammates fighting "is not a bad thing".
Speaking at the post-match press conference, he explained: "Fighting is not a bad thing, I do not agree with sending players off the field like that.
We can fight with our teammates. I know it's violence but I don't agree. I hope if my players lose the ball, they will fight."
Notably, midfielder Idrissa Gueye also apologized for his actions after the match in a social media post. “First of all, I want to apologize to my teammate Michael Keane. I take full responsibility for my reaction. I also apologize to my teammates, the coaching staff, the fans and the club.
What happened does not reflect who I am or the values I stand for. Emotions can be controlled, but nothing can justify such behavior. I will make sure this will never happen again," the Senegalese midfielder said.
The defeat to Everton left Man Utd in 10th place and ended their 5-match unbeaten run. David Moyes' team also has 18 points like Man Utd after 12 rounds but is ranked one place lower due to a lower goal difference.
