These days, although he is busy going back and forth to find construction materials, every time he looks at the house with the completed foundation, Mr. Phan Trong Ky (born in 1960) - a particularly poor household in Son Phu village, Dong Loc commune, feels a new hope. After many years of living in poverty, this is the first time he dares to dream of a spacious, sturdy home to protect him from the sun and rain.

Construction started at the end of October, and now Mr. Ky's house has completed the foundation.

Sharing about his situation, Mr. Ky confided : “My wife died early, I alone shouldered the burden of raising my children in poverty. The family has four children, three of whom are unfortunately disabled. Although they have their own families, their lives are still full of difficulties, and they cannot help their father much. The old house has deteriorated, and was hit by two big storms, causing severe damage to the roof and walls, making it no longer safe to live in. Based on the village's assessment, I received 160 million VND in support from my superiors. That was the motivation for me to be determined to start building a new house. Currently, we will try to find more resources to strive to complete the house before the Lunar New Year of Binh Ngo 2026.”

Seeing the house gradually being completed after nearly 6 months of construction, Mrs. Nguyen Thi Canh (born in 1958, in Son Phu village) could not hide her joy. The lifelong dream of a stable place to live of a poor woman living with her nearly 100-year-old mother who is often sick has now become a reality. To create conditions for her to stabilize her life, her superiors have recently supported her with 150 million VND to build a new house.

Mrs. Canh's house is in the finishing stage, ready to be put into use.

Mrs. Canh confided: “Since I was a child, this is the first time I have held such a large amount of money in my hand. I was so happy that I cried . Along with that funding, the local government also mobilized social support to provide 4 tons of cement. The villagers took turns contributing their working days. That affection and concern became an important driving force to help me realize my dream of a solid roof.”

In the house still smelling of new paint, Mr. Tran Van Cuong (born in 1972) - a single disabled man with a very difficult life in Tung Lien village, emotionally shared: "I never dared to think that I would have a solid house like this. Thanks to the care and help of superiors, local authorities and neighbors, now I can feel secure in my life, trying to improve my life so as not to disappoint everyone's kindness."

It is known that Mr. Cuong's house has a total value of more than 300 million VND. In addition to the 70 million VND support from his superiors, the remaining funding comes from the help of his relatives and the money he borrowed to complete his home.

Each solidarity house built on the fiery land of Dong Loc is mobilized from many different resources: provincial and local budgets, Funds for the Poor at all levels, the companionship of businesses, philanthropists and the sharing heart of the community... However, they all share the same goal: to help people in difficult circumstances realize their dream of settling down and making a living.

Mr. Tran Dinh Thang - Vice Chairman of the Fatherland Front Committee of Dong Loc commune said: "With the motto of State support, community contribution, people's companionship, in recent times, the movement of building houses for poor, near-poor and disadvantaged households has received strong response from people, children far from home, businesses and mass organizations. Each completed house is a common joy, demonstrating the profound humanitarian spirit of the community and is a step towards the goal of leaving no one behind".
