Science and technology create breakthroughs in production and life
During the 2022-2024 period, Thai Nguyen has simultaneously issued and implemented many new mechanisms and policies on science and technology, creating a foundation for research, application and technology transfer activities to be operated professionally, closely linked to the socio -economic development goals of the province.
Promoting the strengths of scientific infrastructure, especially the research system of Thai Nguyen University with more than 900 PhDs, along with a network of laboratories and modern research and development centers, the province has approved the implementation of many provincial-level science and technology tasks and effectively deployed state-level tasks.

Successfully implementing applied research on new plant and animal varieties in agriculture has created agricultural products with high economic value, attracting workers, and the impact of science and technology has contributed to the restructuring of agriculture and forestry. These models open up the direction of developing commodity agriculture, creating more jobs and increasing income for people, especially in difficult areas.
S&T tasks in the fields of natural sciences, engineering and technology has supported the development of enterprise products, typically: Researching and perfecting the technological process of producing and processing fermented soft drinks from Thai Nguyen tea - Kombucha Tea; Researching and designing smart controllers for multi-source power systems applied to livestock farms in Thai Nguyen province; Building a cloud virtualization system to serve data storage at the Thai Nguyen Provincial Data Center; Developing and expanding the application of iMetos technology to support agricultural production; Applying VR technology to build a model to visit the National Historical Site "Commemorative site for the 915th Youth Volunteers who sacrificed their lives at Luu Xa"; Researching and designing a smart drying system with sterilization for drying agricultural products in Thai Nguyen province; Researching and applying digital transformation technology in protecting intellectual property rights and promoting and promoting trade for Thai Nguyen tea products. These results help local businesses improve product quality, enhance competitiveness and participate more deeply in the value chain.
The medical field also made its mark with applied research that has a direct impact on people's lives, such as the application of Ligasure knife in thyroid cancer surgery in Thai Nguyen; the application of small tunnel percutaneous nephrolithotomy technique to treat kidney stones at Thai Nguyen Central Hospital; the research on products to support the treatment of osteoarthritis from the medicinal plant Don Vo developed in Thai Nguyen province; the assessment of the current situation and the proposal of solutions to plan the conservation and development of some medicinal plants with high economic efficiency in Thai Nguyen province; the research on the application of autologous platelet-rich plasma injection on patients with frozen embryo transfer with thin uterine lining in Thai Nguyen; the application of mesenchymal stem cell therapy (from autologous adipose tissue) in the treatment of primary knee osteoarthritis in Thai Nguyen... These studies contribute to improving the quality of health care and expanding access to modern techniques locally.
Developing and enhancing the value of local key agricultural products
Along with the development of scientific research, Thai Nguyen promotes the application of science and technology in the protection, management and development of intellectual property, especially with key agricultural products such as Thai Nguyen tea, Tan Cuong tea, Phu Luong tea, Viet Cuong vermicelli, Uc Ky soy sauce, or endemic medicinal herbs.
The province has supported the development of a traceability system associated with brand recognition and intellectual property protection for many OCOP products, geographical indications and collective trademarks. This is an important step to help Thai Nguyen products meet market standards, transparent production processes and enhance consumer confidence. At the same time, the application of quality management standards such as ISO 22301, LEAN, ISO 15189:2022 and productivity and quality improvement programs have contributed to promoting businesses to improve products and expand domestic and international markets.
In particular, research on technology application in the field of tea, Thai Nguyen's key agricultural products such as Research on technological processes for producing products from Thai Nguyen green tea, Research on applying digital transformation technology in protecting intellectual property rights and promoting trade for Thai Nguyen tea products are helping the tea industry to upgrade from traditional production to modern production, linking brands with quality and standardizing towards international standards.
Along with that, many medicinal plant growing models such as Cat Sam and Sam Bo Chinh were built in ineffective hilly areas, contributing to diversifying agricultural products, improving land use efficiency, creating jobs and increasing income for people.
Outstanding achievements in the 2022-2024 period show that science, technology and innovation have become an important driving force for comprehensive changes in production, services and state management in Thai Nguyen. High-tech agricultural models, medicinal research, processing technology, traceability systems and intellectual property application have contributed to expanding livelihoods and increasing incomes for people, especially those in remote areas.
Many households have increased their income by converting to effective livestock farming models and applying scientific and technical advances.
Science, technology and innovation not only promote economic growth and enhance the competitiveness of businesses and key products, but also directly help people escape poverty sustainably through job creation, standardization of production processes, market expansion and increased product value.
This is a clear demonstration of the role of science, technology and innovation, both as a foundation for development and a "lever" for poverty reduction, contributing to ensuring social security and sustainable development for Thai Nguyen province in the coming years.
