Circumcision is a minor surgery to remove excess skin from the glans penis, helping to reduce the risk of male diseases. Doctors prescribe circumcision in cases of narrowing or blockage, long penis, and recurrent infections. The circumcision procedure must be performed at a reputable medical facility, ensuring a clean, sterile operating room and trained surgeons. Children under 12 years old need anesthesia when circumcising, so it must be performed in a hospital.
Performing procedures without ensuring aseptic conditions can lead to surgical site infections. In severe cases, patients may experience complications due to IV fluids and antibiotics, which can even be life-threatening. Patients may face psychological consequences due to prolonged stress, which can be costly.
Doctors recommend that when any unusual signs appear in the penis, one should go to a reputable andrology facility for examination and appropriate treatment.
