Hai Phong A 23-year-old man bought a machine and went home to cut his foreskin. The wound bled profusely, was swollen, and had bruises, and had to be hospitalized for emergency treatment.

On May 16, a representative of Hai Phong International General Hospital said the patient was admitted in a state of pain, blood loss, a metal ring around the foreskin, and swelling of the penis. The patient said he bought the machine according to an online advertisement, then used the machine to cut his foreskin according to the seller's instructions.

The doctor stopped the bleeding and cut and adjusted the patient's foreskin. After the intervention, the patient's health was stable.

Circumcision is a minor surgery to remove excess skin from the glans penis, helping to reduce the risk of male diseases. Doctors prescribe circumcision in cases of narrowing or blockage, long penis, and recurrent infections. The circumcision procedure must be performed at a reputable medical facility, ensuring a clean, sterile operating room and trained surgeons. Children under 12 years old need anesthesia when circumcising, so it must be performed in a hospital.

Performing procedures without ensuring aseptic conditions can lead to surgical site infections. In severe cases, patients may experience complications due to IV fluids and antibiotics, which can even be life-threatening. Patients may face psychological consequences due to prolonged stress, which can be costly.

Doctors recommend that when any unusual signs appear in the penis, one should go to a reputable andrology facility for examination and appropriate treatment.
