The highest temperatures will generally range from 35-37 degrees Celsius, with some places exceeding 38 degrees Celsius. The lowest relative humidity will generally be 50-55%, and the hot weather will last from 10 am to 5 pm.
On August 8th, the Northern region (excluding Dien Bien and Lai Chau) and Thanh Hoa experienced hot weather with maximum temperatures generally ranging from 35-36 degrees Celsius, and exceeding 36 degrees Celsius in some areas. Relative humidity was at its lowest level, generally 60-65%, with the hot weather lasting from 12-16h.
The heatwave in Northern Vietnam is likely to last until around August 10-11; the heatwave in the area from Thanh Hoa to Da Nang, the eastern parts of the provinces from Quang Ngai to Dak Lak and Khanh Hoa is likely to last until around August 12.

Deputy Head of the Weather Forecasting Department Nguyen Huu Thanh noted: "The temperature forecast in heatwave reports and the actual perceived temperature outdoors can differ by 2-4 degrees Celsius, or even higher depending on the surface conditions such as concrete and asphalt."

If you absolutely have to go outside, wear long-sleeved and long-legged clothing and use a hat to cover your head and face to protect as much skin as possible.
People need to drink enough water regularly and consistently throughout the day and every hour (ideally choosing types of water such as filtered water, fruit juices, and pure vegetable juices) to combat the heat and replenish lost fluids.
On August 6th, the area from Quang Tri to Da Nang, the eastern parts of the provinces from Quang Ngai to Dak Lak and Khanh Hoa experienced hot weather, with some areas experiencing intense heat. Temperatures at 1 PM were generally 35-37 degrees Celsius, with some places exceeding 37 degrees Celsius, such as Ba To station (Quang Ngai) at 37.7 degrees Celsius, Hoai Nhon station (Gia Lai) at 38 degrees Celsius, and Tuy Hoa station (Dak Lak) at 37.2 degrees Celsius… Relative humidity at 1 PM was generally between 50-60%.
