Continuing the dream for infertile military couples.

"The first time we held the test results in our hands, my wife and I looked at each other for a long time, crying and saying, 'We've succeeded!'" Lieutenant Colonel Lo Khac Quynh (1990), working at the Military Prosecutor's Office - Military Region 2, was speechless as he shared the miracle of having twin daughters thanks to a free IVF support program after 10 years of infertility.

On the morning of December 13th, the Hanoi Andrology and Infertility Hospital, in collaboration with the Military Broadcasting and Television Center, held a ceremony to announce and present decisions granting 10 free in-vitro fertilization (IVF) treatments to infertile military personnel in 2025. Many touching stories resonated deeply with the families of these infertile parents.

The joy after a nine-year ordeal of infertility.

Ten years ago, Lieutenant Colonel Lo Khac Quynh (born in 1990), working at the Military Procuracy - Military Region 2, and Ms. To Thi Tuyet (born in 1993), from Dien Bien province, got married. However, the 400km distance between Mr. Quynh's workplace and his family, along with the nature of military duties that often keep him away from home, made reunions rare.

For many years, the couple sought help from various medical facilities, both traditional and Western, hoping to find the cause of their infertility, but without success. A turning point came when Mr. Quynh successfully passed a rigorous application review process to become one of 10 families eligible for financial assistance for IVF treatment under the "Love Spreads" program for infertile military personnel, implemented in 2021 by the Hanoi Andrology and Infertility Hospital in collaboration with the Military Broadcasting and Television Center.

Trusting in this new opportunity, the couple applied for consideration and were fortunate enough to be one of ten families to receive financial assistance for IVF treatment that year. Their IVF process at the hospital went smoothly. On the very first embryo transfer, what they had been waiting for for almost a decade finally arrived, and it was even more fulfilling than expected when the doctor announced that Tuyet was pregnant with twins.

In November 2022, the family welcomed two babies, Lo Ngoc Minh Khue and Lo Minh Ngoc Khue. That moment brought to an end nearly nine years of longing and waiting, culminating in overwhelming happiness as the cries of infants filled their parents' arms. The birth of the two children brought joyful laughter to the home of Mr. Quynh and Ms. Tuyet.

Looking back at the military families who have welcomed their children thanks to the "Love Spreads" program over the past period, what we remember is not only the happiness at the destination, but also the journey they overcame to reach that simple yet sacred moment.

Each success not only concludes a challenging journey for one family but also opens up hope for other couples undergoing treatment. These stories have become a source of motivation for many families to continue moving forward and overcome all difficulties.

Families struggling with infertility are eagerly awaiting good news.

Dr. Pham Van Huong, Deputy Director of Professional Affairs at the Hanoi Andrology and Infertility Hospital, shared that thousands of military personnel yearn to have children, but not everyone has the means to pursue infertility treatment to the end. Removing just one barrier would give each family more determination to move forward.

Understanding the unique challenges faced by military personnel in their journey to conceive, since 2021, the Hanoi Andrology and Infertility Hospital has implemented a support program specifically for military personnel, helping to alleviate financial burdens and facilitate access to appropriate treatment methods for families. This includes free examinations, consultations, ultrasounds, genital tract smears, and semen analysis; a 20% discount on clinical laboratory tests, and more. Notably, the hospital also provides 100% financial support for IVF treatment for many infertile military families throughout the armed forces through a review process.

Continuing the story of the seeds of love.

In 2025, the program continued to attract significant interest from many military families, with the hospital receiving numerous applications from various units shortly after its announcement. The hospital's expert council conducted a fair review of each application to select 10 families to receive a 100% free in-vitro fertilization (IVF) support package.

At the ceremony, many military families emotionally shared their arduous journeys in trying to have children, but also the significant obstacle of treatment costs. This IVF support package will help them continue a journey that seemed on the verge of ending.

Among the couples receiving support this time are military personnel over 40 years old who have been struggling with infertility for more than 10 years.

Dr. Le Thi Thu Hien, Director of Professional Services at Hanoi Andrology and Infertility Hospital, shared that over the past five years of supporting infertile military families, 38 babies have been born thanks to 100% free IVF treatment packages. Seeing a military couple holding their little angel after so many days of longing is the greatest motivation for the hospital's medical team to continue pursuing their mission of "Connecting love, nurturing happiness."
