Sharing at the premiere, director Le Hung Phuong said that he had been nurturing the story for 5 years, and after many edits, it was finally possible to put it into production.

Talking about the film's content, he also revealed that after the pandemic, he did not want to focus too much on dramatic details. The film also does not follow the healing trend but is simply a light-hearted story.

Screenwriter Nguyen Thi Nhu Khanh also affirmed that the film does not lack drama elements, but they are only the cause and foundation of the story.

Cold Sun tells the story of Son Duong, a young man from a powerful family who refuses the life of a rich man to find his own path. He leaves his suffocating family and hides in the forest of memories - the land associated with his late brother.

Behind the perfect appearance of Son Duong's family are mysteries like "onion skins" - peeling them away but still not seeing the person behind all the tragedies. The sudden events, the truth revealed made him lose faith and almost lost everything even when he thought he had found the love of his life.

According to the crew representative, Cold Sun is not only a family film about conflicts in family relationships, but also a story about how relatives behave with each other, how each person in the family respects the truth and behaves and acts when cracks and breakdowns occur.

In addition, the film is also a journey of young people full of ideals and ambitions, searching for their own values. They also find ways to “heal” their wounds, regain their faith, find strength and grow up.

Talking about the setting of Da Lat, director Le Hung Phuong said that he tried to choose special locations that did not overlap with other films. To have satisfactory scenes, he set very high requirements for the crew. Every day, the actors had to wake up before 5am, travel 20km by car before continuing to walk 3.5km to the top of the mountain to film. Usually, it was not until 11 or 12pm that the crew members finished a day of filming.

People's Artist Minh Duc said that because she was the oldest member of the crew, she was given the privilege of being taken by motorbike to the top of the pass to film.

Mai Thu Huyen said she had to try hard to think and shape her style to portray the character of a noble lady. Mai Thu Huyen also agreed to spend a large amount of money on investing in costumes.

Familiar with villain roles, actress Than Thuy Ha confided that in this project she always had to remind herself to "keep her mouth shut". However, there were scenes where the character was revealed and she felt very happy because this was her profession, her familiar personality that she still showed.

Actor Anh Tu also had a dream villain role that made him immediately accept and prepare carefully when the director called.

The film's cast also includes two singers, Thien Vuong and Ricky Star. Director Le Hung Phuong commented that although they are supporting roles, both are charming, humorous and sophisticated. Both also act with very real emotions and when technique is needed, he and his co-stars support them to complete their roles in the best way possible.

Cold Sun will officially air at 8pm every Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday on VTV3 from June 2.
