McLaren Senna GTR worth over 50 billion VND has arrived in Vietnam but still has no owner

The Senna GTR No. 33 was once brought to Vietnam, then transferred to Germany, and is still for sale for nearly 2 million USD (about more than 50 billion VND) but has not found a buyer.

The McLaren Senna GTR with serial number 33 - which attracted attention when it appeared in Vietnam in 2022, is still "unsold" even though it has returned to Europe for a while. The car is currently for sale at the Hollmann dealership (Germany) for 1.688 million euros, equivalent to about 1.95 million USD (more than 50 billion VND).

The Senna GTR is one of McLaren's special limited edition models, with only 75 units produced worldwide, much less than the 500 units of the regular Senna. This car with number 33 was brought to Vietnam through the K-Supper dealer but could not find a domestic owner. After that, the car was exported back to Germany, listed at 2.3 million USD and put up for auction, but the transaction has not yet been closed.

The Senna GTR is the third McLaren to carry the “GTR” suffix, following the legendary F1 GTR and P1 GTR. True to its track-only philosophy, the Senna GTR is not street legal and is designed to be a complete departure from the McLaren 720S platform, with the front, rear and rear wings designed to optimize aerodynamics.

Despite being one of McLaren’s rarest and highest-performance models, Senna GTR No. 33 is on a rare “drifting” journey. From Hong Kong to Vietnam and then to Germany, from a price tag of 2.3 million USD down to under 2 million USD, but to this day the car has yet to find an owner.

The car still has the words Richard Mille on the body, a Swiss watch brand often associated with high-performance cars. The car has only 80 km on the odometer and is only offered by the Hollmann dealer for export, not for domestic customers.

The interior space is also stripped of almost all amenities, retaining only the necessary equipment for a racing car such as radio communication system, track data recorder, air conditioning, fire suppression system and hydraulic lift. Senna GTR uses a 4.0L Twin-Turbo V8 engine code M840TR, producing up to 825 horsepower and maximum torque of 800 Nm.

Compared to the standard Senna, the GTR version is 25 horsepower more and 186 kg lighter, weighing just 1,188 kg. This gives it an impressive power-to-weight ratio of 694 horsepower per tonne, the highest of any McLaren Automotive model ever produced.

In fact, owning a Senna GTR requires not only strong financial resources, but also suitable conditions for use. Because it cannot be legally circulated on the street, this model is almost exclusively for collection or experience on specialized race tracks, which is not easy to satisfy the majority of customers, even in Europe or Asia.
