China is accelerating to lead the global robotics industry with a market forecast to reach $108 billion by 2028. Robotic arms with integrated artificial intelligence now cost just $40,000, down from $140,000 previously.
Factories like Zeekr have increased the number of robots from 500 to 820 in just four years, serving processes from welding, assembly to quality control. In 2022, BYD alone purchased 20,000 robots, including 1,000 from domestic company Aubo, showing a strong increase in the trend of "localizing" robots.
Robots help workers switch from manual operations to screen monitoring, ushering in the era of smart factories in China. Today, the country accounts for more than 40% of the global robot market share, and is home to 741,700 companies in the robotics industry. It is expected that by 2050, China will own 302 million humanoid robots, equivalent to 30% of the total number of robots globally.
With its “Made in China 2025” strategy, China is betting on robots as the next wave of technology to maintain its position as a manufacturing superpower. Readers are invited to watch more videos : Iris scanning tool to verify human identity | VTV24
