Meta Launches Standalone AI Image Generator Imagine

According to Android Authority , Imagine is a standalone service that users can use on their PC or smartphone to create unique images that perfectly reflect their thoughts. It's essentially the same as the Reimagine feature that Meta recently rolled out on Messenger and Instagram, but Imagine is a standalone service, meaning it's "open" to all platforms.

Unlike Reimagine, Imagine is available for all platforms.

Imagine is based on Emu technology, Meta's image generation model and is a tool based on AI image generation technology from text. It will be a competitor to image models such as DALL-E or Midjourney. Its advantages are that it is easy to use and is available for free to everyone.

Imagina's interface is pretty simple. Users will find a text box where they can express their ideas and a "Generate" button so that the AI ​​can illustrate the text placed above. Meta will add a watermark to all images generated from Imagine in order to promote transparency and keep track of all images generated using the AI ​​model.

The watermark will be applied to a deep learning model and can be detected by the corresponding model. It is also capable of recovering common image manipulations such as cropping, color changes, screenshots, etc. Meta plans to incorporate this watermark into other AI-generated image products.

Like Meta AI, Imagine is currently only available to users in the US, and it's unclear whether Meta plans to roll out the feature to global users.
