According to reports, on July 30th, some Microsoft users reported being unable to access several services such as Office, Outlook, and Azure. The outage lasted for nearly 10 hours, paralyzing millions of Windows devices.

The incident began around 6:45 PM on July 30th and was resolved at 2:43 AM on July 31st. According to media reports, the incident affected water supply companies, courts, banks, and many other organizations.
Microsoft confirmed that it initially observed a sudden surge in usage, causing Azure Front Door and Azure Content Delivery Network components to operate below acceptable levels, resulting in latency, errors, and wait times.
The investigation revealed that while the DDoS attack triggered the defense mechanisms, deployment errors in the defense systems amplified the attack's impact instead of mitigating it.
Microsoft is committed to releasing a preliminary assessment within 72 hours to share more details about what happened and the lessons learned from the incident.
Previously, due to another incident caused by a change in Azure configuration in the early afternoon of September 17th (Vietnam time), thousands of Windows computers experienced the Blue Screen of Death (BSOD) during startup, affecting banks, airlines, television stations, supermarkets, and businesses worldwide .
