Dismissal of Mr. Nguyen Phu Cuong from the position of Chairman of the National Assembly's Finance and Budget Committee

Previously on May 15, at the 7th Central Conference (mid-term Conference), the Party Central Committee unanimously voted to let Mr. Nguyen Phu Cuong resign from his position as a member of the Central Committee. On May 16, Mr. Nguyen Phu Cuong submitted a resignation letter to the National Assembly .

Relieve Mr. Nguyen Phu Cuong from the position of Chairman of the National Assembly's Finance and Budget Committee 1 — Mr. Nguyen Phu Cuong.

At the meeting, the National Assembly approved the dismissal of Mr. Nguyen Phu Cuong from the position of National Assembly Delegate of the 15th tenure, Dong Nai province constituency.

At the 23rd Session (November 2022), the Central Inspection Commission determined that the Party Executive Committee of Dong Nai Provincial People's Committee violated the principle of democratic centralism and working regulations; lacked responsibility, loosened leadership and direction, allowing the Provincial People's Committee and many organizations and individuals to violate Party regulations and State laws in implementing a number of projects and equitization work.

There are cadres and party members who have degraded in political ideology, ethics and lifestyle, violated regulations on what party members are not allowed to do and the responsibility to set an example, and have been criminally prosecuted. Along with a number of provincial cadres, Mr. Nguyen Phu Cuong must take responsibility during his tenure as Secretary of the Dong Nai Provincial Party Committee.

On March 30, 2023, the Politburo decided to issue a disciplinary warning to the Standing Committee of the Dong Nai Provincial Party Committee for the terms 2010 - 2015, 2015 - 2020. The reason is that the Standing Committee of the Dong Nai Provincial Party Committee for the above terms violated the principle of democratic centralism and working regulations; lacked responsibility, lax leadership and direction; lacked inspection and supervision, allowing the Party Executive Committee, the Provincial People's Committee and a number of organizations and individuals to violate Party regulations and State laws in financial management, investment, bidding, and land use in a number of projects.

Violations and shortcomings of the Standing Committee of Dong Nai Provincial Party Committee caused serious and difficult-to-remedy consequences, caused great damage and risk of loss to the State budget, caused social outrage, and reduced the prestige of local Party committees and authorities.
