Then, from May 7, Vietnam Airlines will use Airbus A321 aircraft to operate the Hanoi - Hyderabad route with a frequency of 3 round trips per week.
With the launch of two new routes, Vietnam Airlines has increased its total number of destinations in India to four major cities including New Delhi, Mumbai, Bengaluru and Hyderabad, with six direct routes currently in operation. This expanded flight network meets the diverse travel needs between the two countries, while contributing to promoting trade, tourism and bilateral cooperation.
Mr. Dang Anh Tuan, Deputy General Director of Vietnam Airlines, said: “India is currently one of the fastest growing aviation markets in the world, with a population of more than 1.4 billion people and a constantly expanding middle class.
Expanding the flight network to major technology hubs such as Bengaluru and Hyderabad not only meets the growing travel demand, but also affirms Vietnam Airlines' role in connecting Vietnam with the South Asian region."
Since operating flights to India, Vietnam Airlines has operated more than 3,200 flights, serving more than 511,700 passengers.
In 2024 alone, Vietnam welcomed more than 500,000 visitors from India, making this South Asian country one of Vietnam’s 10 largest tourism markets. These figures show the strong growth potential of the Indian market, especially in the fields of tourism, trade and cultural exchange.
