Located on the Hoa Bac tourist route (Hai Van ward), Bep Cui – the name of a charming little tea shop – is nestled in a small garden, its entrance covered with trellises of pink and red tigon flowers, and its pathways lined with greenery and flowers, creating a romantic and rustic atmosphere that delights visitors every time they pass by.

The tea shop boasts dozens of herbs and botanicals used to prepare various tea drinks. According to the shop, there are about 7-8 types of tea, each with a fascinating name. The teas are brewed using traditional methods, either by boiling water over a wood fire or by simmering water, tea, and spices for many hours. The spices are also readily available herbs, adding spiciness, pungency, and richness to the tea.

The owner of the tea shop is Tran Thi Bich Hang, a university graduate from Ho Chi Minh City, formerly a journalist, and fluent in foreign languages. Hang's opportunity to open a tea shop came from her understanding of the local people's use of medicinal herbs and plants, combined with some valuable remedies from a renowned physician that help reduce stress, relax, beautify the skin, and promote deep sleep.

Sitting at the Bếp Củi tea shop, enjoying two different types of tea with two distinct flavors, though unfamiliar, was quite interesting. Every now and then, Hang would greet a few foreign customers who came in, then rush back to the kitchen to check on the tea brewing. While meticulously introducing the tea, Hang also answered customers' questions thoroughly, leaving them satisfied and fond of her. "The tea shop has a lot of Russian customers. Many Russians who are experts on projects in Da Nang still visit regularly," Bích Hang confided.

Ginseng, sugarcane, and bamboo root tea, also known as "long-lasting health tea," is a favorite among customers, especially the elderly, who find it enjoyable when served hot. Hang jokingly says, "Drinking this tea won't completely cure your sadness, but at least it gives you a reason to let it go." This tea is brewed over a low wood fire and contains ginseng for alertness, sugarcane for sweetness, bamboo root for liver health, chrysanthemum for lightness of the head, luohan fruit for deep breathing, and several other ingredients.

Ginseng and bamboo shoot tea is a ready-to-drink, bottled, chilled tea, perfect for cooling down. Drinking tea is like eating durian; those who can tolerate it become addicted to its unique aroma and rich, creamy taste. Customers here have different preferences; some prefer the warm, fragrant, and slightly spicy flavor of spiced teas, while others enjoy the sweet taste of artichoke tea, served cold. The beauty of the tea lies not only in its spices but also in its unmistakable aroma.

Leaving behind the pressures of city life and returning to the tranquility of her small garden in Hoa Bac, Hang has never regretted it; on the contrary, she always finds it delightful to be in harmony with nature. From regular customers to first-time visitors on tours, everyone shares a fondness for this little tea shop.
