On October 4th, the Management Board of Son Tra Peninsula and Da Nang's tourist beaches announced that, after nearly three years of temporary closure due to erosion, the number of visitors to Son Tra has increased sharply since the routes reopened, becoming a favorite destination for international tourists.
In just the latter half of September, from September 16th to 30th, Son Tra Peninsula welcomed over 4,700 visitors, a 24.6% increase compared to the first half of the month, with international visitors increasing by 70%. The Yet Kieu route attracted the most visitors with over 2,500, followed by the intersection of Bai Bac beach and the heritage banyan tree with over 1,200, and the Tien Sa route with nearly 1,000.

Mr. Nguyen Duc Vu, Head of the Management Board of Son Tra Peninsula and Da Nang's tourist beaches, said that the reopening of the Tien Sa - Suoi Om - Ban Co Peak, Ban Co Peak - Bai Bac, and Bai Bac intersection - heritage banyan tree routes has been meticulously prepared with a system of directional signs, personnel stationed at the beginning of the routes, and the control of tourists using green cards valid for use during the day.
The management board also strengthened the implementation of the Da Nang City People's Committee's plan to ensure the safety of tourists, requiring tour groups to register their itinerary and number of guests, while individual travelers are issued separate control cards.

The unit also advises residents and tourists to strictly comply with environmental protection regulations, reduce plastic waste, prioritize environmentally friendly means of transportation such as electric vehicles, bicycles or walking, refrain from feeding wild animals, and avoid cutting down trees, lighting fires or using drones in prohibited areas.
Traffic regulations have also been tightened: the Tien Sa - Om Stream - Ban Co Peak route only allows bicycles, motorbikes (except scooters), and pedestrians; the Ban Co Peak - Bai Bac route is one-way downwards, prohibiting scooters and cars with more than 24 seats; the Bai Bac - Heritage Banyan Tree route is for pedestrians only. Absolutely no unauthorized trekking routes down to Huc Lo, Mui Nghe, and Bai Da Den are allowed.

Visitors to Son Tra Peninsula will be checked using access cards (if traveling alone).

From October 2022, tourist routes in Son Tra were temporarily suspended due to landslides following heavy rains and storms. From September 16th, 2025, the routes are allowed to resume operation, open from 7:30 AM to 6:30 PM during the dry season (March - September) and from 7:30 AM to 5:00 PM during the rainy season (October - February of the following year), and will immediately close when there is a warning of severe weather.
The reopening of Son Tra Peninsula not only meets the demand for exploring pristine nature but also creates momentum to promote sustainable ecotourism, contributing to restoring the attractiveness of Da Nang tourism after a long period of stagnation.
