Beijing is preparing for widespread snowfall on December 12th after the meteorological agency issued a cold wave warning. This information immediately attracted attention on Chinese social media, with the topic "capital welcomes first snowfall of winter 2025" trending, Global Times reported.

Many users reported that tickets to visit the Forbidden City (now the National Palace Museum) sold out quickly as tourists wanted to see the snow-covered scenery there.

Forecasts indicate snowfall across the city, with moderate snowfall possible in mountainous and southern areas. Temperatures are expected to drop below 0 degrees Celsius during the day, and the snowfall is expected to gradually subside in the early morning of December 13, according to local media.

The frenzy for tickets to the Forbidden City intensified after the weather forecast. On social media, searches and posts related to "Forbidden City tickets sold out by the morning of December 13th" surged. The Forbidden City's ticket booking portal recorded that all tickets for December 12th and 13th were fully booked, with no seats left.

According to information from the Beijing Municipal Urban Management Committee's WeChat account, districts in the city have implemented response plans early on, reviewing and upgrading snow removal and anti-icing measures.

Personnel and equipment were mobilized to ensure convenient and safe traffic for citizens, while maintaining a clean and orderly urban environment.

Xin Xin, a weather expert from China's weather channel, predicted on social media that it is almost certain that Beijing will experience snowfall, mainly from the afternoon to evening of December 12th.

Built in the early 15th century during the Ming dynasty, the Forbidden City served as the residence and workplace of the imperial family and high-ranking officials.

This vast palace complex, planned according to strict feng shui principles, comprises magnificent main halls, tranquil courtyards, and served as the center of power in feudal China for centuries.

Today, the monument stands in the heart of modern Beijing, welcoming tens of thousands of visitors daily. More than six centuries after its completion, the palace still stands as a symbol of ancient architecture and masterful construction techniques.
