In the 1960s, a Chinese military unit stationed in Gaowu Town, Anji County, Zhejiang Province was tasked with building a bridge. Because they needed granite, they decided to use dynamite to blast the mountain. More than 200 people were mobilized to the site to carry out the work.

But then something unexpected happened. When the explosives went off, suddenly countless gold and silver treasures were scattered all around, leaving everyone stunned. Everything got out of control. The curious townspeople rushed in to pick up the gold and silver. The military unit had a hard time stopping this robbery.

The incident was then reported to the local authorities. The provincial Cultural Relics Bureau quickly dispatched a team of archaeologists to Gaowu Town to collect the artifacts. When the experts arrived at the scene, they found an ancient tomb beneath the blast site.

They then went to each house in the town to collect the stolen gold and silver jewelry. As a result, the archaeological team recovered 5 gold items, 23 silver items, 5 jade, agate, amber items and 3 fans. According to their assessment, these items were all extremely sophisticatedly designed, and some jade jewelry could even be classified as national treasures. The total value of the artifacts found could be up to 200 million yuan (about 660 billion VND).

After collecting the artifacts, the team continued to excavate the ancient tomb. They found a stele inside the tomb. According to the inscription on it, the owner of the tomb was Wu Lin, a Ming Dynasty official who served as the supervisor of Shandong Province.

Ngo Lam was born in 1485 and died in 1553. During his lifetime, he was a famous scholar, once one of the "four great scholars" of the imperial court. Ngo Lam was revered by the people for his integrity and uprightness. Later, because he was tired of the fighting in the officialdom, he retired to his hometown and died there.

However, experts feel that a famously honest person like Ngo Lam could not have gotten so much gold, silver, and jewels as burial objects. So where did these antiques come from?

They found many ancient documents proving that the gold, silver and jewels in Ngo Lam's ancient tomb were placed there by his sons. Ngo Lam had four sons, who were also very talented people. Because they did not want their father's tomb to be too simple, the four sons decided to add burial objects to it. The result surprised later generations.
