Outstanding union cadres graduate early

In his short and emotional speech, Trung said that over the years, he had stood behind the scenes at least three times, coordinating the program and supporting his seniors at graduation ceremonies. He wished to have the honor of standing on the podium to deliver a speech. On this important day, he was very excited and happy because that wish had come true.

It is known that among the students who graduated early this year, Trung has a cumulative GPA of 3.93/4.00, a training score of 100/100 - one of the top students of the school; is the Deputy Secretary of the Foreign Trade University Youth Union for the 2022-2024 term; a member of the School Council for the 2020-2025 term; 5/6 terms of receiving scholarships for students with good academic results (A scholarship); achieved the title of 5 Good Students of Hanoi City in 2023.

During the course of study, Trung had 5/7 semesters with a cumulative GPA of 4.00/4.00.

In addition to his impressive academic achievements, Trung also received many certificates of merit for his youth union activities at school and city levels.

Sharing with Dan Tri reporter, Trung said that he thinks he has found a suitable learning method, so from the first year, studying is no longer a burden.

The male student admitted that the simplest way to study is to learn well the knowledge in the textbooks, never miss any class and pay attention to the teacher's lectures.

At each stage of the school year, Trung continues to set out a plan to review for each subject. That helps him achieve better academic results.

According to this male student, although his family never put pressure on him to study, from high school until now, he has always placed invisible expectations on himself to maintain good academic performance. Therefore, during his time at university, he has done his best to achieve that goal.

Choosing Foreign Trade is a turning point in life

Le Do Thanh Trung was born and raised in Pleiku city, Gia Lai province. In high school, he was a math major at Hung Vuong High School. Here, he won many awards, big and small, such as: the title of excellent student, third prize in the provincial English competition, Nay Der scholarship...

With high school graduation exam scores of 9.2 in math; 9.6 in English; 8.5 in literature; 9.0 in physics, in 2021, Trung was admitted to the Foreign Economics major at the Institute of International Economics and Business, Foreign Trade University.

Sharing about why he chose Hanoi instead of enrolling in a school near his home, Trung said that the reason he chose Foreign Trade University and went the other way to the North was because he liked Hanoi since he was little.

In particular, when I was in high school, I was just a shy, insecure boy, afraid of everything around me, only focused on studying, so I had the goal of choosing an environment to "improve myself".

"The biggest goal I set when entering school was to be active and confident because I focused a lot on studying during my high school years. A person, even with a good foundation, if they are too lethargic, will lack dynamism.

So I want to become more confident, have skills beyond books, have more relationships..., to step out of my previous comfort zone. With this goal, I decided to choose Foreign Trade University and that was a big turning point in my life," Trung shared.

According to this male student, he always kept in mind that once he entered the desired environment, he had to make an effort to stay on track so as not to "derail". Right from his first year, whatever activities the school had, this shy student would register to participate. Perhaps that was also part of the reason why his training score was almost maximum.

The male student recalled that the first days he arrived in Hanoi, he was really overwhelmed. Although he had already imagined it in his head, everything here surprised him because of the unimaginable dynamism of his peers.

Immediately I volunteered to be class monitor, applied to clubs, worked part-time, tried to study hard, participated in extracurricular activities, and gradually integrated with friends.

At the beginning of the second year, he was introduced to the Executive Committee of the school's Youth Union. In the third year, Trung was elected to the position of Deputy Secretary of the Youth Union of Foreign Trade University.

Commenting on the excellent student Thanh Trung, Dr. Vo Xuan Loc, Secretary of the Youth Union of Foreign Trade University, said that Trung has great qualities, is intelligent and quick-witted, and eager to learn.

To have Trung become the Deputy Secretary of the school's Youth Union, the school spent 2 years testing and monitoring this male student among 200 students screened to join the Youth Union office organization.

In addition to factors such as grades and learning process, Trung is a good listener and has good connections with lecturers, teachers and students. On average, the school has about 150-170 activities each year, Trung will be the one to connect teachers with those events.

"Although the Youth Union activities take up a lot of Trung's time, on the contrary, his GPA is very good, proving that this male student has a very good learning mindset.

The school's choice of Trung to represent thousands of students to speak at the first graduation ceremony, in addition to the factors of scores, requires people with great stage talent, fluent speech, good writing ability, and Trung meets those requirements," said Dr. Loc.
