We invite you to participate in the "Proud of Vietnamese History" contest, starting on October 17th.

The opening ceremony of the "Proud of Vietnamese History" competition took place on the morning of October 17th, combined with a seminar titled "The Everlasting Revolutionary Path of Youth" to commemorate the 110th anniversary of the birth of the heroic martyr Ly Tu Trong, held at the Ly Tu Trong Youth Union School (Thu Duc City).

This is the 7th time the competition has been held, with the hope of creating a platform to help people understand the history and traditions of the nation, as well as contributing to improving the effectiveness of traditional education for the younger generation through lessons of national history.

The competition aims to commemorate the 95th anniversary of the founding of the Party (February 3), the 50th anniversary of the liberation of the South and reunification of the country (April 30), and the 50th anniversary of Saigon - Gia Dinh City officially being named after President Ho Chi Minh (July 2).

The competition is divided into three categories. These include: Youth Union members, association members, and young people of Ho Chi Minh City (Category A); Young Pioneers and children of Ho Chi Minh City (Category B); readers of Tuoi Tre newspaper (Category C); and individuals (independent contestants, TikTokers, YouTubers, KOLs, etc.), associations, and groups (branch unions, associations, inter-branch unions, inter-branch associations, faculty unions, university unions, independent associations, groups… each group with no more than 3 members) who are interested in learning about history, have projects related to Vietnamese history, and wish to participate in the competition (Category D).

Immediately following the opening ceremony will be the online qualifying round of the "Historical Knowledge" competition (for contestants in categories A, B, and C) held on Tuoi Tre Online 's online competition page at: https://tuhaosuviet.tuoitre.vn. This round will be organized in two stages (each lasting seven days). Stage 1 will be from October 17th to 23rd, and Stage 2 from October 24th to 30th.

At the same time, the qualifying round specifically for contestants in Group D will be the essay writing competition on "Spreading Vietnamese History," also taking place from October 17th to 30th. Afterwards, the list of contestants from each group advancing to the final round will be announced. The final round and awards ceremony are tentatively scheduled for November 23rd.

The competition revolves around knowledge of Vietnamese history; the history of the Party; the history of the Party Committee and government of Ho Chi Minh City; the life, career, thoughts, ethics, and style of President Ho Chi Minh; the history and revolutionary traditions of the Youth Union and the youth movement in Ho Chi Minh City; the Ho Chi Minh City and national Youth Union congresses; the history of the Vietnam Youth Union, the Vietnam Student Union, and the Ho Chi Minh Young Pioneers Organization; the traditions of students in Ho Chi Minh City; and the exemplary figures of Vietnamese heroes, martyrs, and revolutionary predecessors…

This includes knowledge of historical and cultural landmarks and sites at the city or national level, significant historical and cultural locations within the city, and the Ho Chi Minh City Youth Union's base during the resistance war. In addition, students will learn about traditional Vietnamese culture, the history of the formation and development of Ho Chi Minh City, and the urban culture along the Saigon River.

Within the framework of the competition, there will also be a seminar titled "Proud of Vietnamese History - Continuing the Tradition of Patriotism," scheduled to be held in early 2025 to commemorate the 95th anniversary of the founding of the Party.
