Hope people accompany the 500kV Lao Cai - Vinh Yen project

The 500kV Lao Cai – Vinh Yen transmission line project is a key national energy project, playing a strategic role in releasing the capacity of hydropower plants in the Northwest region and preparing for the import of electricity from China. The project is large-scale with a length of 229.5 km, a total investment of 7,410 billion VND, passing through Lao Cai and Phu Tho provinces.

The youth volunteer force coordinated with the electricity industry and participating units to support the construction of the 500kV Lao Cai - Vinh Yen transmission line project.

In Phu Tho province, the project passes through nearly 90 km with 195 electric pole locations. In the past time, the project has received attention and close direction from the Government, especially the Prime Minister in Official Dispatch No. 81/CD-TTg dated June 3, 2025 and direct direction at the construction site of the 500kV Lao Cai - Vinh Yen line. The project also received attention from provincial leaders, departments and localities where the line passes through. The project will be energized and put into operation on August 19, 2025 (the 80th anniversary of the successful August Revolution).

To implement the project, the contractors, Phu Tho Electricity Company, have applied advanced construction solutions and technologies. Because the project intersects with the existing power grid from 0.4kV to 220kV voltage levels, the construction process will directly affect the regional power grid connection and power supply to important transformer stations such as Phu Tho 220kV station and Doan Hung 110kV station, causing overload of Viet Tri 220kV transformer station and 110kV line in Phu Tho area (old) and part of Vinh Phuc area (old). Therefore, temporarily stopping the power supply and reducing the demand for electricity at certain times is a force majeure solution to ensure absolute safety for the power system and people during the construction process.

Phu Tho Electricity Company announces and hopes for the sharing, consensus and support of customers, organizations, businesses and all people in the province to proactively adjust the electricity usage plan, use electricity economically and effectively, and together with the electricity industry overcome this important construction phase.
