
The 2025 Asian Rowing Championships will feature 232 athletes (135 men, 97 women) from 18 countries and territories, including India, Hong Kong (China), Taiwan (China), Japan, South Korea, Philippines, DPRK, Iran, Iraq, Kuwait, Thailand, Saudi Arabia, Uzbekistan, Kazakhstan, Malaysia, Indonesia, Singapore and host Vietnam.
At the tournament, athletes will compete in 20 events for men and 20 events for women. Host Vietnam will participate in all events and all athletes currently training will compete.
According to Vice President and General Secretary of the Vietnam Rowing Federation Nguyen Hai Duong: The 2025 Asian Rowing Championship is an important occasion for the Vietnamese rowing team to review its strength towards the 33rd SEA Games in Thailand this coming December and the 20th Asian Games in Japan in 2026. Currently, the preparation of facilities is being carried out with the utmost urgency by the Hai Phong Local Organizing Committee.
According to the registration list of the Vietnamese team, rower Pham Thi Hue, who participated in the 2024 Olympics, will participate in the tournament. In addition, many athletes with good skills such as: Pham Thi Thao, Ho Thi Ly, Luong Thi Thao, Dinh Thi Hao, Pham Thi Ngoc Anh, Le Thi Hien, Ha Thi Vui, Du Thi Bong... have been preliminarily registered.
Ms. Duong Hong Hanh - Head of Rowing (Vietnam Sports Administration) - affirmed: Vietnamese athletes are preparing carefully to participate in the tournament and will have all the top faces present to achieve the best results.
At the 2024 Asian Rowing Championships, Vietnamese rowers won 2 gold medals, 2 silver medals and 3 bronze medals. The gold medals of Vietnamese Rowing were brought home in the women's doubles by Dinh Thi Hao and Pham Thi Hue and the women's 8-scull by rowers Nguyen Thi Giang, Pham Thi Thao, Pham Thi Ngoc Anh, Le Thi Hien, Ha Thi Vui, Dinh Thi Hao, Pham Thi Hue, Du Thi Bong, Luong Thi Thao.
