A store selling fake food

The Market Management Department of Tien Giang province has just transferred the case file of a food store in Cai Lay town selling counterfeit goods to the police agency for further investigation and handling according to regulations.

Previously, on November 13, Market Management Team No. 6 (Market Management Department of Tien Giang province) presided over a surprise inspection at the business location of a Facebook account owner in Cai Lay town, Tien Giang province.

Upon inspection, the food products were labeled in accordance with regulations, had self-declaration records and fully registered product declarations. The inspection team took 2 samples of nutritional foods for quality testing.

The test results showed that both samples failed. One of them was a fake in terms of usage value and effectiveness, with the Vitamin A index reaching only nearly 60% of the minimum published level. The remaining sample had a quality that did not meet the published standards (calcium, lysine, phosphorus, magnesium, taurine indexes exceeded from 13% to 107%). The total value of the infringing goods was more than 10 million VND.

On December 9, Market Management Team No. 6 made a record of administrative violations against the above business establishment regarding the two above-mentioned violations.

At the same time, complete the procedures to transfer all case files with signs of crime to Cai Lay Town Police (Tien Giang Province) for the police to continue investigating and handling according to regulations.
