A principal was disciplined for "hiding" many cases of student fights.

(NLDO)- A principal in Vinh Long province was disciplined because many student fights occurred at the school but he did not report them to leaders at all levels.

On November 27, the Department of Internal Affairs of Vung Liem district, Vinh Long province, said it had coordinated with relevant units to announce the decision to issue a disciplinary warning to Mr. Vo Huu Tran, Principal of Trung Hieu Secondary School.

Mr. Tran was disciplined for failing to properly fulfill his responsibilities as principal, allowing school violence to occur.

Previously, on September 21, a group of 9 8th grade students from Trung Hieu Secondary School used chairs and helmets to beat a friend and filmed the clip.

Trung Hieu Secondary School has established a disciplinary council and unanimously proposed that the principal issue a disciplinary decision in the form of a one-year suspension for the eight students who beat up their friend, and a two-week suspension for the student who filmed the clip. The students who stood by and watched, did not report or help their friends stop them, were criticized in front of the whole school and had their conduct grade lowered by one level.

In the past two school years, Trung Hieu Secondary School has had many incidents of students fighting and causing injuries. The vice principal and teachers have repeatedly proposed to handle the violations, but the principal has no solution and has not handled the situation thoroughly.

Regarding the incident of a group of students fighting and filming a clip on September 21, Mr. Tran did not promptly handle it, did not report it to leaders at all levels, and did not promptly notify the families of the beaten students to take support measures.
