Going to Ha Giang to 'learn digital transformation experience'

Specifically, the Department of Education and Training of Vinh Cuu district, Dong Nai province sent a document to schools announcing the plan to go to Ha Giang province to learn about experiences in implementing digital transformation in education.

Participants in the study tour include leaders, specialists in charge of education levels and related departments of the Department of Education and Training of Vinh Cuu district, principals and vice principals of preschools, kindergartens and junior high schools throughout the district.

Travel time is five days, from June 3 to 7 (including departure and return time).

The Department of Education and Training of Vinh Cuu district informed that the trip to Ha Giang aims to exchange and share experiences in management and direction of relevant departments to implement the topic "Improving the effectiveness of digital transformation in education and applying STEM education in preschool and general education programs"; learning experiences between the two units on effective models and methods in digital transformation and organizing STEM education activities for preschool children and secondary school students.

Regarding the cost of study abroad, the Department of Education said that the agency or unit sending people to study abroad will pay the cost according to current financial regulations from the budget of Vinh Cuu District People's Committee.

The Department of Education signs a contract with a travel company to cover all transportation and accommodation throughout the trip.

Before the plan to travel for five days and a route of more than 1,900km to learn from experience, a teacher said: "Dong Nai is directing the dissemination of knowledge about digital transformation, digital skills and AI applications for officials and civil servants, so why not connect to study locally but have to buy a plane ticket to Ha Giang to learn from experience?"

Less 'digital transformation study' schedule but more time to hang out

According to Tuoi Tre Online 's research, the schedule for "digital transformation study" has also been sent to schools and many teachers have registered to join the trip.

Accordingly, the schedule sent to registered teachers shows that on the first day (June 3), the group going to study digital transformation will gather at Tan Son Nhat airport, then take a plane to Noi Bai airport, then depart for Ha Giang.

Also according to the five-day plan, the study group will visit two schools in Ha Giang city.

For the remaining time of the itinerary, the group will go to Dong Van stone plateau, visit Lung Cu flagpole, Ban Gioc waterfall and then continue traveling through Cao Bang province...

Talking to Tuoi Tre Online about the study trip before streamlining the district's administrative apparatus, Mr. Nguyen Quang Phuong, Chairman of Vinh Cuu District People's Committee, said: "Previously, the department's leaders reported to the district People's Committee and said to combine self-funding. After receiving comments, we are requesting a report on this matter and must stop the study trip plan proposed by the education department."

Providing more information about the above incident, Mr. Hoang Duc Quang, Deputy Head of the Department of Education and Training of Vinh Cuu District (the person who signed the above document), explained: "Actually, at the end of the year, the department usually organizes for teachers to go here and there. I signed the plan to go to Ha Giang to study digital transformation to notify about the trip. After signing, I felt it was not right, so I reported to the District People's Committee to notify the schools and teachers to stop this trip."
