Price for Barca to buy Rashford

According to The Athletic, Marcus Rashford will join Barcelona on a one-season loan from MU, with a buyout clause worth 30 million euros in June 2026.

This is considered a surprising but strategic deal for both teams. Barcelona not only borrowed a quality player but also cleverly negotiated to insert a buyout clause at a reasonable fee in a tight financial context.

Notably, Rashford accepted a 15% pay cut to make the deal happen, showing his determination to find a chance to revive at Camp Nou. Barca will pay the English striker's entire salary next season, around 14 million euros/year, including bonuses.

No longer in coach Ruben Amorim's long-term plans, Rashford hopes the new environment in La Liga will be a launching pad to help him regain his peak form in the 2022/23 season, scoring 30 goals in all competitions.

Currently, Barcelona is still waiting for the salary cap problem from La Liga to be resolved to register Rashford in the playing list. Coach Hansi Flick wants to add a quality winger, when the squad only has Lamine Yamal and Raphinha who are really stable in the 4-3-3 formation.

As for Rashford, he publicly expressed his desire to seek "a new challenge" last December. In addition to Rashford, MU also plans to sell Antony, Jadon Sancho and Alejandro Garnacho in the summer of 2025.
