This year's special Vu Lan season art program, themed "Gratitude for Parental Love," promises to evoke many emotions with its artistic performances of singing, dancing, poetry, drama, and traditional folk singing.

On September 11th, the Economic & Urban Newspaper, the Vietnam Women's Newspaper, and Oscar Media Company held a press conference to introduce the program.

In his opening remarks, Associate Professor-Doctor Nguyen Thanh Loi, Editor-in-Chief of the Economic & Urban Newspaper and Head of the Organizing Committee, stated that this was an opportunity to pay tribute to those who have made contributions, expressing profound gratitude to the Heroic Vietnamese Mothers, wounded and sick soldiers, and martyrs – those who sacrificed their lives and blood for the independence and freedom of the Fatherland. The program also contributes to educating the younger generation, sowing seeds of filial piety, patriotism, and civic consciousness among young people.

With each passing season, the program has attracted an increasingly larger audience, becoming a "nucleus" for spreading waves of kindness, beautiful thoughts, and positive actions in life.

Meanwhile, General Director Mai Thanh Tung said that the success of previous programs is a motivation for the team to strive and be more creative in order to bring viewers a program full of emotion and humanistic values.

"I believe that what we convey through art will fully resonate with the audience, touching every heart so that everyone will continue to write songs about humanity and uphold the precious traditions of our nation," said General Director Mai Thanh Tung.

Participating in the program, People's Artist Le Chuc affirmed that "Gratitude for Parental Love" is the culmination of emotions and profound gratitude for mothers and generations who have silently sacrificed for the Fatherland. This is not just a performance stage, but also a place where heartfelt gratitude is expressed through art, sincerely and movingly.

"With my voice, my experience, and the dedication of an artist, in my role as artistic advisor for the program, I hope to contribute to the 'echoes of gratitude' through each lyric and each profound artistic performance that the program conveys," People's Artist Le Chuc expressed.

The program utilizes unique artistic performances, combining diverse forms of music , dance, poetry, drama, and modern theatrical techniques to convey a meaningful message during the Vu Lan festival (a Buddhist festival honoring parents).

Through the language of art, the program portrays sacred and intimate images of paternal love, maternal devotion, the silent sacrifices of parents, and touching moments in each person's journey of growing up. It is also an opportunity for viewers to relive cherished memories, thereby further appreciating their family life and the ancestors who dedicated themselves to the peace, independence, and freedom of the nation.

The "Gratitude to Parents 2025" program, expected to last 120 minutes, will include: the Xẩm folk song "The Love of Father and Mother" performed by artist Mai Tuyết Hoa, the Bamboo Dance Troupe, and the Star of Childhood Club; the song "The Homeland's Lullaby" performed by singer Ngọc Liên; a documentary about meaningful activities alongside the program; and artistic performances featuring numerous singers: Mỹ Linh, Phương Thanh, Bằng Kiều, Minh Quân, Kyo York, Ngọc Ký, Viết Danh, Minh Đức, Thanh Tài, Ngọc Khánh Chi…

In particular, this year's program will feature the short play "A Mother's Tears" performed by the Vietnam National Drama Theatre.

The program took place at 8:10 PM on September 18th at the Vietnam-Soviet Friendship Labor Cultural Palace in Hanoi, and was broadcast live on channel H1 (Hanoi Radio and Television Station) and rebroadcast live on newspapers and television stations in provinces and cities nationwide.
