The Ministry of Education and Training prescribes 19 methods of regular university admission in 2025 with method codes.

Compared to 2024, this year the Ministry will eliminate 4 methods including: Combining direct admission according to the project and other methods; direct admission according to the project of the training institution; combining interviews with other criteria for admission; combining international certificates with other criteria for admission.

The Ministry of Education and Training also added 3 new methods including: Using international SAT certificates or other qualified international certificates for admission; V-SAT exam; using V-SAT exam results organized by other units for admission.

The Ministry of Education and Training's general admission support system will automatically process candidate data according to the principle of equality between methods. Candidates admitted by any method will be considered for the results of that method.

The 3-character admission method code is self-defined by the training institution but must be referenced to the admission method code prescribed by the Ministry of Education and Training, or the admission method code prescribed by the Ministry of Education and Training can be used as follows:

Regarding the admission combination code, the Ministry of Education and Training guides that for the admission method based on high school graduation exam results or high school study results (using combination codes like admission using high school exam results), use the admission combination code prescribed by the Ministry of Education and Training.

The Ministry of Education and Training has added a list of combination codes suitable for subjects according to the 2018 general education program for training institutions to use consistently. Training institutions upload the combination codes for admission on the professional page; for combinations with gifted subjects, gifted subjects NK1, NK2 are determined by the training institution.

For other admission methods, the 3-character combination code is determined by the training institution.

The 2025 high school graduation exam will take place on June 25-28, with candidates completing procedures on June 25 and the official exam on June 26-27.

In addition to the two compulsory subjects of Math and Literature, candidates must choose two of the subjects studied in grade 12: Foreign Language, History, Geography, Physics, Chemistry, Biology, Economic and Legal Education, Information Technology and Technology.

In which, Literature subject is tested in essay form, the remaining subjects are tested in multiple choice form.

According to the plan, at 8:00 a.m. on July 16, the Ministry will announce the exam scores for candidates to register for university admission. The registration period is from July 16 to 5:00 p.m. on July 28.
