Chau Thanh completes the criteria of "New rural district"

In line with the annual socio-economic development plan, Chau Thanh district has focused all resources, proactively overcome difficulties, built a roadmap to enhance the role of the political system in building new rural areas, determined to maintain and improve the quality of achieved targets and criteria. During the implementation process, the district proactively coordinated with departments, branches and sectors to remove difficulties, propose specific solutions and implementation roadmaps. In particular, promoting socialization, mobilizing people to implement rural traffic works; building cultural life; solving employment, reducing poverty; supporting production development; investing in healthcare, education, infrastructure; mobilizing people to participate in health insurance, etc.

As a result, Chau Thanh district achieved 9/9 criteria, 36/36 targets according to Decision 320/QD-TTg, dated March 8, 2022 of the Prime Minister . The whole district has 11 communes recognized as meeting NTM standards; 4 communes meeting advanced NTM standards; 2 communes meeting model new rural standards; 2/2 towns meeting civilized urban standards. Ms. Nguyen Thi Kim Ba (residing in Can Thoi hamlet, Can Dang commune) excitedly said: "Thanks to the new rural construction program, the appearance of the countryside and people's lives have improved a lot compared to before. Now, electricity, roads, schools, stations, and clean water are invested in, so the living, production and business of rural people are very convenient"...

Chairwoman of Chau Thanh District People's Committee Nguyen Thi Phuong Lan said: Becoming a new rural district is one of the important tasks of the 2020 - 2025 term set by the Party Committee and the government of Chau Thanh district. Vice Chairwoman of An Giang Provincial People's Committee Nguyen Thi Minh Thuy requested Chau Thanh District People's Committee to urgently overcome the limitations; urgently complete the central report, related supporting documents, and send them to the Department of Agriculture and Environment for synthesis.
