
On the evening of October 22, at Panasonic Suita Stadium (Osaka, Japan), the match between Gamba Osaka and Nam Dinh Football Club (Nam Dinh FC) within the framework of Group F - AFC Champions League Two 2025/26 took place excitingly, attracting a large number of Japanese audiences and the Vietnamese community living in Kansai.
Right from the first minutes, Gamba Osaka showed the home team's superior strength with good ball control and good coordination. They opened the score early in the 16th minute thanks to Rin Mito, before striker Issam Jebali doubled the gap early in the second half. In the 89th minute, an unfortunate own goal by defender José Walber De Mota De Amorim (Nam Dinh FC) raised the score to 3-0 for Gamba. However, in the extra minutes, striker Kyle Hudlin scored an honorary goal for Nam Dinh, ending the match with a result of 3-1.

What was special about this match was not only the performance on the field, but also the enthusiastic atmosphere from the stands. Hundreds of Vietnamese fans - many of whom came from Osaka, Kyoto, Kobe and neighboring provinces - came to the stadium to cheer, carrying red flags with yellow stars and banners to encourage their hometown team. The cheers of “Nam Dinh, keep it up!” echoed throughout the stands, creating a proud and emotional atmosphere in Osaka, Japan.
In particular, representatives of the Vietnamese Consulate General in Osaka and diplomatic staff were also present in the stands to cheer for the Nam Dinh team. Their presence was not only a great source of encouragement for the players but also demonstrated the affection and interest of the Vietnamese diplomatic agency in the sports and cultural exchange activities between the two countries.

Although not winning against Gamba Osaka, Nam Dinh FC was still highly appreciated for its resilient fighting spirit and professional style in its first participation in the continental arena. The match left a good impression of the image of Vietnamese people united, cheering civilly and enthusiastically. This is also an opportunity for the Vietnamese community in Japan to become more united, to turn to their homeland and spread the spirit of sportsmanship and friendship between Vietnam and Japan.
