Improve the effectiveness of enforcement of animal epidemiology and quarantine

(DN) - The Department of Agriculture and Environment has just deployed Plan No. 366/KH-SNNMT on implementing the Project "Improving the effectiveness of the implementation of the Agreement on the application of sanitary and phytosanitary measures (SPS) of the World Trade Organization and SPS commitments within the framework of free trade agreements" in the province.

The general objective of the plan is to ensure food safety, animal, plant, agricultural, forestry and fishery disease safety, aiming to protect human health and animal and plant health in the province; contribute to improving people's quality of life and increasing value and competitiveness in domestic and international markets.

Specific goal: By 2025, 100% of food safety management and animal and plant quarantine officers at all levels will be trained and updated annually on professional expertise. Strive for 80% of goods circulating on the market to comply with SPS measures. Establish a focal point for inquiries and responses to market SPS regulations in the province. Connect with the national SPS information portal to promptly share information.
