Rice price today November 16: Fresh rice increased slightly, rice stable

Updated rice prices on November 16 in the Mekong Delta showed little market volatility. Fresh rice prices tended to increase slightly due to low supply, while raw rice and export rice prices remained stable.

According to records on November 16, the rice market in the Mekong Delta region was generally stable. Transactions were somewhat better than previous days, especially fresh rice with a slight increase due to the limited supply at the end of the season.

Domestic and export rice prices are relatively stable, fresh rice tends to increase.

Rice prices in the Mekong Delta provinces

Updated from the Department of Agriculture and Environment of An Giang province, prices of popular fresh rice varieties are as follows:

• OM 5451 rice: 5,300 - 5,500 VND/kg
• OM 18 rice: 5,600 - 5,700 VND/kg
• Dai Thom 8 rice: 5,600 - 5,700 VND/kg
• IR 50404 rice: 5,100 - 5,300 VND/kg

The trading situation in the localities is different. In Dong Thap and An Giang , the trading is better, the purchasing power is good. Meanwhile, in Can Tho and Vinh Long, the remaining rice quantity is small, the trading is taking place sporadically but the price remains stable. In Tay Ninh, many areas have been harvested, there are not many new buying transactions.

Domestic rice market developments

Domestic prices of raw rice and finished products have not changed much. Transactions are generally weak and purchasing power is not high.

• Jasmine rice: 17,000 - 18,000 VND/kg
• Long grain Thai fragrant rice: 20,000 - 22,000 VND/kg
• Nang Nhen Rice: 28,000 VND/kg

Vietnam's rice export price

In the world market, Vietnam's rice export prices are stable. According to the Vietnam Food Association (VFA), the selling prices of the main rice varieties are as follows:

• 5% broken fragrant rice: 415 - 430 USD/ton
• 100% broken rice: 314 - 317 USD/ton
• Jasmine rice: 478 - 482 USD/ton
