In order to improve and standardize the quality of population collaborators, since the beginning of June, the Ha Tinh Department of Population and Family Planning has opened training courses for new collaborators who are weak in expertise.
Many problems and difficulties of population collaborators in Huong Son district were resolved during the training session.
The training session for new population collaborators and those with weak expertise and skills was conducted by the Provincial Department of Population and Family Planning (DS-KHHHGĐ) in coordination with the Huong Son District Medical Center in mid-June 2023, attracting 140 collaborators from 25 communes and towns in the area to participate.
At the training class, the collaborators were taught by the staff of the Population and Family Planning Department basic knowledge about demography, formulas commonly used in population work at the grassroots level; concepts and roles of specialized data information, general regulations on initial recording in book A0; making periodic statistical reports on a monthly, quarterly and annual basis, practicing household surveys and initial recording in book A0.

Ms. Uong Thi Loc (Cua Nuong village, Son Phu commune) said: “I have only been assigned to work as a population collaborator for 3 months now, so participating in training courses to improve my professional skills is extremely important. Through the training sessions, I have gained more knowledge to do my job well as well as more communication skills to make people listen and change their thinking about population work.”
Mr. Tran Cam Thach - Deputy Head of the Population - Communication Department (Huong Son District Health Center) said: "The training course to improve qualifications, knowledge, and supplement skills for the new population collaborators who are weak in expertise is important in contributing to the successful implementation of the population - family planning policy in the area. I believe that the knowledge and skills that the population collaborators have acquired will help them become more confident and committed to their work."
More than 100 population collaborators of Can Loc district participated in the training course on population and family planning.
Along with Huong Son district, Can Loc district also organized a training course for more than 100 "new" population collaborators with weak expertise from 18 communes and towns on June 13.
Ms. Le Thi Thuy (Tan Tien village, Thanh Loc commune) shared: When taking on the role of population collaborator of the village, I told myself that if I wanted to do well, I had to try to learn from the experiences of those who went before, participate in training courses, and improve my knowledge... Therefore, participating in training will help me gain more knowledge to be more confident in my upcoming work."
At the training course, population collaborators were taught basic knowledge of demography, formulas commonly used in population work at the grassroots level, concepts and roles of specialized data and information by officers of the Provincial Population and Family Planning Department; and listened to Mr. Tran Hong Dien - lecturer of the General Department of Population impart knowledge of Project 818 "Promoting and expanding the socialization of providing contraceptives, goods and services for family planning and reproductive health".
A professional training course for 150 collaborators in Huong Khe district was held on June 8.
It is known that previously, the implementation of the initial recording form, the information collection form of population collaborators and the specialized statistical reporting form of the electronic data warehouse serving the management and operation of population work was implemented according to Decision 18/QD-TCDS dated March 17, 2016 of the General Department of Population and Family Planning, but now it is implemented according to Circular 01/2022/TT-BYT dated January 10, 2022 of the Ministry of Health . Therefore, there have been many changes, so training for population collaborators, especially new collaborators with weak expertise, is a necessary and timely task. Currently, from the beginning of June until now, the whole province has had 8/13 districts and cities organizing training for 954/1430 trainees for the entire session.
Head of Planning and Synthesis Department (Ha Tinh Population and Family Planning Department) Phan Manh Hoang said: "Through the training courses, the collaborators have a firmer grasp of knowledge, professional skills and techniques to effectively implement population work at the grassroots level. In particular, for new collaborators with weak expertise, the training has helped them know how to determine the actual population of permanent residence at the household, how to accurately record in the A0 book, and how to perform periodic reporting forms according to regulations... Thereby, improving and standardizing the quality of the population collaborator team, contributing to the successful implementation of the population and family planning policy in the area".
