Delegates visited the 31st Southeast Regional Art Photography Exhibition in 2024 at the Tay Ninh Provincial Youth and Children's Learning and Activity Center.
Author Nguyen Kim Hoan from Ninh Thuan province introduced to a large number of photography fans the development of the local electricity industry through the work "Future Light". The work shows the image of electricity workers busy constructing high-voltage power lines, in front is a corner of the completed transformer station. The work brings a sense of strong development in a coastal province of the South Central Coast. This work excellently won the gold medal in the single photo category at the Festival.
Young photographer Le Tan Phat of the hosting unit shows one of the cultural beauties of the Cao Dai religion in Tay Ninh through the work "The Great Festival of the Dieu Tri Palace - The Cultural Beauty of the Cao Dai Religion". For nearly 100 years, on the 15th of the 8th lunar month every year, the Cao Dai Holy See of Tay Ninh solemnly organizes the Great Festival of the Dieu Tri Palace, attracting hundreds of thousands of Cao Dai followers and people from all over the country to visit and admire the fruit display booths and the dragon dance and the four sacred animals dance.

Author Le Tan Phat captured the most beautiful moment of this festival with a photo from above using a flycam. Through the photo, viewers can see the whole scene of the festival, majestic, solemn and colorful. The work won the silver medal in the single photo category at this Festival.
In addition, the works “Kite surfing” by To Cong Vinh (Ninh Thuan), “Returning in the morning sun” by Nguyen Van Quang (Ninh Thuan), “SOS against storms and floods” by Tran Duy Tinh (Binh Duong), “Checking and maintaining work vehicles” by Nguyen Ba Hao (Lam Dong), “Industrial halo” by Le Minh Quoc (Binh Thuan)… all depict the most unique beauty of the landscape, labor, study, sports, and entertainment of 8 provinces in the region.
In the photo series category, the work “Traditional Craft Villages in Tay Ninh” by photographer Nguyen Huynh Dong won the bronze medal. The work depicts many traditional craft villages in Tay Ninh such as conical hat weaving, bamboo weaving, drying wheat flour, potato flour, making tofu skin, black sesame rice paper and making barrels. The photo series shows that the author spent a lot of effort and time traveling to craft villages in many different districts and towns to get the most beautiful frames, helping viewers understand the most general way about the traditional crafts that have been formed and developed over the past hundred years in Tay Ninh.

In the same genre of photo series, the work “Colors of the city on the East Sea” by author Tran Ngoc Thinh (Ba Ria - Vung Tau province) consists of 8 photos, “capturing” the activities of oil and gas exploitation projects on the East Sea. Through the frames, it can be seen that the author has devoted a lot of passion to his “brainchild”. Specifically, the photos include: Dawn on the drilling rigs, Construction of offshore drilling rigs, Construction of offshore oil pipelines, Fire seekers, Self-elevating drilling rigs seen from above…
The photos are beautiful in terms of light, composition, and content. This may be a topic that is too familiar to the judges, so it only won the Encouragement Prize. However, for the majority of photography enthusiasts, this is a beautiful photo series, fully introducing the activities in the field of oil and gas exploration and exploitation in our country.

Regarding the professional quality of this Photo Festival, female artist Doan Thi Tho, E.VAPA/G, member of the Art Council of the Vietnam Association of Photographic Artists, Chairwoman of the Jury of the 31st Southeast Regional Art Photography Festival, commented that there were many good photo series, reflecting many aspects of social life; photos of festivals and traditional craft villages were of high quality and diverse.
Regarding single photos, the highlight of this Festival is the image quality. All works are made with high techniques, from composition, lighting to color, showing the meticulous investment and craftsmanship of the authors, expressing the beauty of the Southeast region through many different perspectives.
The works that were awarded and selected for exhibition all met the criteria of art, journalism, content conveying strong messages, being topical and covering many rich areas of life.
