Talking to the leaders of the two countries, Deputy Prime Minister Tran Hong Ha informed about the storm and flood situation that caused serious damage in Vietnam. He hoped to continue to receive cooperation and support from New Zealand and Australia in overcoming the consequences of storms and floods as well as strengthening cooperation in the fields of environment and climate change.

Expressing its desire to share with the Government and people of Vietnam during this difficult time, the New Zealand Government announced to support Vietnam with 3 million NZD and the Australian Government announced to support 3.8 million AUD to overcome the consequences of storms and floods.

Leaders of Australia and New Zealand highly appreciated the cooperative relationship with Vietnam, emphasizing that upgrading the relationship to a comprehensive strategic partnership is a historic step forward.

The two sides agreed to take specific measures to further enhance the effectiveness of cooperation in the fields of economics, investment, trade, defense, security, tourism, culture, education and training, etc.

With the great potential for economic and trade cooperation, the two sides emphasized the need for closer economic ties and more effective trade and investment cooperation. Vietnam and the two countries promote the connection of the two economies, promote the signing of trade and investment cooperation agreements, facilitate the opening of markets for each other's agricultural products, and aim to diversify the supply chain.

Deputy Prime Minister Tran Hong Ha affirmed that Vietnam will create a favorable environment for New Zealand and Australian businesses to invest and do business in Vietnam, especially with high-quality projects and modern technology. He also shared Vietnam's development orientations in the new era and priority projects in the field of strategic infrastructure, including railways, airports, energy, digital transformation, etc.

Australian leaders said Australian investment funds are increasingly interested in investment opportunities in Southeast Asia, including Vietnam, and are planning to expand operations to take advantage of new cooperation opportunities.

Deputy Prime Minister Tran Hong Ha suggested that New Zealand and Australia continue to increase the number of scholarships for Vietnamese students, while creating conditions for the Vietnamese community to live, study and work in each country.
