The development of this super software will be a new breakthrough in the field of Russian cybersecurity. |
Deputy Minister of Digital Development, Communications and Mass Media of the Russian Federation Alexander Shoitov announced the development of a super antivirus program called “Multiscanner”. The program will be available free of charge to all Russian users. The super antivirus is expected to be integrated into the State Services portal and is designed to protect Russia’s network infrastructure from malware.
Multiscanner is not just a simple antivirus program, but a complex integrated solution, including both hardware and software.
The main task of Multiscanner is to check heavily loaded traffic for the presence of malware. Users will not have to pay any fees to use this program or install additional applications.
Multiscanner is a research product of the National Technology Center for Digital Cryptography of the Russian Federation, which is also part of the “National Project on Digital Economy ” with the participation of companies and private organizations in the field of development and production of information security tools - InfoTeKS, Security Code and Crypto-Pro.
According to the plan, the first prototype of Multiscanner will be launched in 2023 and its new functions will be gradually added in 2024. All the functions of Multiscanner as a national defense system against malware are expected to be completed only from 2025.
The initiative is currently in the draft stage and details of the program and its functions have not been disclosed. However, the creation of such a super antivirus is considered an unprecedented breakthrough at the national level, which could significantly increase the level of protection of Russian Internet users from increasingly sophisticated cyberattacks.
