In contrast, the international USD price fell with the USD-Index at the beginning of the day at only 103.55 points, down 0.4 points compared to yesterday. The greenback fell after the job openings in the world's largest economy in July fell by 338,000 to 8.827 million - the lowest level since March 2021.
Some say the data continues to increase confidence that the US Federal Reserve (Fed) will not raise interest rates at its policy meeting in September. However, this possibility remains uncertain as many Fed officials believe it is necessary to continue implementing tight monetary policy when inflation remains high.
Meanwhile, the Chinese yuan (CNY) has slightly increased thanks to the People's Bank of China's (PBOC) daily exchange rate adjustment efforts. However, 1 USD is currently equivalent to 7.2846 CNY, the lowest level since the beginning of the year.
The PBOC has recently taken a series of measures to stem the yuan’s decline, including more aggressive exchange rate adjustments and possible intervention in the currency market. Investors are now awaiting China’s August purchasing managers’ index (PMI) data, due on August 31.
