Nam Dinh City currently has 28 public kindergartens, all of which have been striving to build and develop according to the educational orientation of taking children as the center. According to this orientation, the comprehensive development of children is put first, each child is respected, cared for and develops his/her skills and qualities.

Implementing the direction of the city Party Committee, government and directly the Departmentof Education and Training (GD&DT), schools have synchronously and effectively deployed many advanced educational methods, especially Montessori and STEM/STEAM models. Applying these methods helps children learn and play in an environment that is both safe and stimulates their potential and passion for discovery. At the same time, children develop social skills, creative thinking ability and independence, gradually forming a comprehensive personality, suitable for the requirements of the current preschool education program.

Right from the beginning of each school year, the City Department of Education and Training has developed and issued professional guidance plans, focusing on innovating educational methods, improving the quality of nurturing, caring for and educating children. These plans closely follow the preschool education program issued by the Ministry of Education and Training, and are flexibly adjusted to suit the actual conditions of each locality and each school to ensure implementation. Schools focus on investing in facilities, paying attention to building a team of teachers and management capacity to implement the topic "Building a child-centered preschool" in a synchronous, comprehensive and substantial manner.

The implementation of the topic is carried out in the construction of friendly play corners and study corners, the arrangement of scientific classroom space and the change in thinking and teaching methods of the teaching staff. Teachers are no longer simply "transmitters" but become companions, guides, and inspire children's curiosity and creativity. Children are encouraged to express their personal opinions, participate in the process of building activity content, and are given opportunities to explore and experience on their own. From there, children form important social skills such as cooperation, sharing, confident communication and proactive problem solving.

In the 2024-2025 school year, all 28/28 kindergartens in the city simultaneously implemented the theme "Building a happy kindergarten, taking children as the center". This activity is closely linked to the implementation of the new preschool education program, creating a vibrant and continuous emulation movement. This school year, the city-level "Building a happy kindergarten, taking children as the center" contest was held, attracting the enthusiastic participation of management staff, teachers and students. Participating in the contest helps schools share results and experiences, and is also an opportunity to spread creative models, arouse the spirit of innovation, creativity, and promote the capacity of each teacher.

Thanks to these activities, teachers have the opportunity to learn from each other, share experiences, and create engaging and effective lessons. Lessons in the subject are no longer limited to fixed lesson plans but are designed more flexibly and creatively. Educational content is closely linked to real life, takes children as the center and respects the personal development of each child. All contribute to building a preschool education environment in Nam Dinh city that is truly a "happy home" for children. Nam Phong Kindergarten is one of the bright spots in implementing this topic. With an area of ​​nearly 3,000m2, the school has spacious facilities, all classrooms are fully equipped with age-appropriate toys and equipment. The school has invested in building outdoor playgrounds, soccer fields, grass hills and green vegetable gardens, giving children experiences close to nature, inspiring the spirit of discovery and creativity. In particular, the one-way kitchen with full modern equipment, ensuring food hygiene and safety, helps parents feel secure when sending their children to school. The school's teaching staff has solid expertise, is always dedicated and creative in caring for and educating children. Teachers regularly participate in professional training courses, improving their skills in child-centered educational methods. During the teaching process, teachers focus on observing and listening to children, creating conditions for children to express their thoughts and desires, thereby building appropriate activities, encouraging children to develop comprehensively in terms of physical, intellectual and emotional aspects.

At My Ha Kindergarten, the goal of “taking children as the center” is also clearly demonstrated in all activities of caring for and educating children. The school has launched a movement for teachers to make their own tools and toys from recycled materials, which not only saves costs but also encourages children to be thrifty and creative through homemade products with unique, interesting and attractive colors. The classrooms are decorated cheerfully, colorfully, scientifically and friendly so that children can freely explore and experience. The play and study corners are designed to be open, stimulating children's creativity and initiative. In addition, My Ha Kindergarten also actively coordinates with parents and the local community to build and improve the landscape and learning environment. Organize exciting collective activities such as "Children's School Festival", "Full Moon Festival", "Spring Fair"... to create conditions for children to show their talents, practice communication and behavioral skills, learn social knowledge, and form positive habits and behaviors.

To promote the movement, the City Department of Education and Training has directed schools to seriously assess children's development according to regulations, considering this an important "tool" to adjust the educational plan, ensuring that each child is cared for, respected and maximizes their potential. Schools also promote the application of information technology, using management software such as VNEdu, Missa... in managing and caring for children's education, contributing to improving the effectiveness of educational activities. Training, fostering and improving the quality of the teaching staff is always a top priority. Teachers are regularly trained, participate in thematic activities, share experiences, and innovate teaching methods.

The results achieved from building a child-centered kindergarten have created clear changes in the quality of preschool education in Nam Dinh city. The green - clean - beautiful learning environment, rich and creative activities, a team of teachers who love their jobs and are dedicated... have brought joy and happiness to children every day they go to school. Children are bold, confident, love school and class, develop necessary skills, and are ready to enter first grade with a solid foundation.

Nam Dinh City is continuing to promote the construction of standard, modern kindergartens to meet the comprehensive development needs of children.
