The seminar "Contributions of Vietnamese Scientists to the Cause of National Defense and Construction" is a preliminary activity preparing for the thematic exhibition "The Imprint of Vietnamese Scientists in the Cause of National Defense and Construction," which will open in August 2025 at the Vietnamese Scientists' Heritage Park ( Hoa Binh ).
The seminar provided an opportunity to look back comprehensively, objectively, and with deep appreciation at the immense contributions of Vietnamese intellectuals and scientists over the past nearly 80 years—from the early days of regaining national independence to the period of resistance, post-war nation-building, reform, and international integration.

The discussions at the seminar focused on clarifying the role and contributions of the scientific community over the past nearly 80 years: from the period of struggle for independence and resistance, to the period of national development, reform, and international integration. Many key fields such as agriculture , medicine, education, technology, natural sciences, and social sciences and humanities all bear the mark of the persistent, quiet, yet profound presence of Vietnamese scientists.
The delegates also emphasized the role of science and technology in building an independent scientific foundation, training intellectuals to serve socio-economic development, protecting national sovereignty, and improving people's lives.
In particular, the seminar provided an opportunity to exchange approaches to conveying scientific and historical heritage to the public in a vivid and effective way in the new context.
Speaking at the event, Dr. Nguyen Thanh Hoa, Director of the Center - Museum of Vietnamese Scientists' Heritage, shared: "The seminar not only aims to recognize and honor scientists, but also serves as a bridge connecting history and the present, between generations of intellectuals, thereby spreading humanistic values and the spirit of dedication to the community."

Established in 2007, the Center - Museum of Vietnamese Scientists' Heritage is the first non-governmental museum in Vietnam specializing in the collection, preservation, and promotion of the scientific heritage.
To date, the Center-Museum of Vietnamese Scientists' Heritage has worked with over 7,000 scientists, preserved more than 1 million valuable documents and artifacts, and organized many highly-regarded thematic exhibitions such as "The Aspiration for Learning and Creativity," "Deep Within Each Artifact," "Stories of Geology," and "Science: Creativity and Contribution"...
The Vietnamese Scientists' Heritage Park in Hoa Binh is currently a cultural, educational, and science-experiential complex covering nearly 30 hectares, attracting tens of thousands of visitors each year, especially students, contributing to inspiring learning, a love for science, and promoting the ideal of living for the community.
