Specifically, Quang Ngai General Hospital, Phuc Hung Private General Hospital, and other medical examination and treatment facilities are focusing resources and actively treating patients currently being treated at their units, ensuring patient safety.
Simultaneously, the Quang Ngai Provincial Food Safety Department, in coordination with the Quang Ngai Provincial Center for Disease Control, Phuc Hung Private General Hospital, Quang Ngai General Hospital, Quang Ngai Provincial Obstetrics and Pediatrics Hospital, Quang Ngai Health Center, and other relevant units, conducted investigations, took action, and collected samples for testing to determine the cause of the food poisoning.
According to a report from the Quang Ngai Provincial Department of Health, from the afternoon of December 13 to the morning of December 14, Phuc Hung Private General Hospital, Quang Ngai General Hospital, and Quang Ngai Provincial Obstetrics and Pediatrics Hospital received 28 cases of suspected food poisoning from eating bread at bread stalls displaying the sign "Hong Van Bread".

All patients hospitalized with suspected food poisoning from Hong Van bread exhibited symptoms including abdominal pain, frequent diarrhea, vomiting, high fever, and headaches. Upon admission, the patients underwent tests and received intensive treatment from the medical team, and their condition is now stable.
Upon receiving reports of food poisoning, authorities formed an investigation team and conducted an investigation at the Hong Van bread production and business facility (280 Nguyen Nghiem Street, Cam Thanh Ward), owned by Mr. Nguyen Hong, and at bread selling points in Cam Thanh and Nghia Lo wards.
Upon inspection, authorities discovered that the Hong Van bread shop lacked a business registration certificate, a food safety certificate, or other equivalent documents. The production area did not follow a one-way flow from raw materials to the final product. The production and business premises were not separated from sources of pollution and other harmful factors…
Following the inspection, the People's Committee of Cam Thanh Ward proceeded to seal all remaining food samples at the business stalls and at 280 Nguyen Nghiem Street; and requested the Hong Van bread stalls to temporarily cease business pending the conclusion of the investigation by the relevant authorities.
To date, the Quang Ngai Provincial Center for Disease Control has collected 17 food samples from business stalls and at 280 Nguyen Nghiem Street; and collected 6 specimens for testing to determine the cause of the food poisoning.
