MSc. Nguyen Minh Tung, Head of Admissions and Student Affairs Department, Vietnam Aviation Academy, said that after virtual filtering rounds, up to now, the standard scores of the school's majors have basically converged and there are many notable things.
Mr. Tung said that the standard score for the high school graduation exam method this year is expected to be the lowest at the academy, 18 points, and the highest is up to 27 points.
In particular, the airport management major of the construction engineering technology industry has seen a sudden increase, from 16 points last year to about 21 points this year, an increase of 5 points. Most other majors have increased their scores compared to last year.
He said this was quite surprising because previously, the average score for high school graduation math and English exams was low, so the school lowered the floor score.

Explaining the increase in benchmark scores, he said that on one hand, because there are no more early admissions, candidates register for more wishes.
On the other hand, removing the limit on the number of admission combinations (4 combinations/major) also opens up more opportunities for candidates.
This year, the school received nearly 21,400 applications with a total of more than 37,700 wishes.
Flight operations management (English-taught program) continues to be one of the majors with the highest benchmark scores at Vietnam Aviation Academy. This year, the benchmark score for this major is expected to be 27 points, up from 26 points last year.
Mr. Tung added that this is the industry that attracts the most candidates and is considered to have very good career prospects. Employment opportunities are almost 100%, with starting salaries of up to 15 million VND/month and up to 50-60 million VND/month for those with experience.
One of the highlights of this year’s admission season is marketing - a new major opened by the Academy. Although the quota is not large, about 60, the competition rate for this major is the highest in the school, up to 1/34. The admission standard score for the first year is up to 24.5 points in the first year of admission.
In addition, Mr. Tung also commented that the tourism and travel industries this year also attracted the attention of candidates and had a high standard score of 22-23 points. In contrast, the school's information technology industry still maintained a relatively low score, about 18 points in the past 2 years.
