According to Mr. Tong Van Nga, Chairman of the Vietnam Building Materials Association, since the Doi Moi (Renovation) period, the Vietnamese building materials industry has experienced strong development, not only meeting domestic needs but also expanding into the international market with competitive quality and prices.
In particular, in the context of sustainable development, the industry is pioneering the application of green, environmentally friendly technologies, contributing to the development of a circular economy .
Besides product development, the building materials industry is promoting sustainable development trends, applying environmentally friendly materials. The greening trend in the construction industry is no longer an option but has become a necessity.

"Recyclable, less polluting, and environmentally friendly materials will be increasingly widely used. This will not only help reduce negative impacts on the environment but also improve economic efficiency," Mr. Tong Van Nga shared.
According to Le Van Ke, Deputy Director of the Department of Science, Technology, Environment and Building Materials ( Ministry of Construction ), the building materials industry has a long history and plays a very important role in the construction and development of the country.

The total annual revenue of the building materials industry, including construction steel, is estimated at approximately US$50 billion, accounting for nearly 12% of the national GDP. The trend towards a circular economy and green economy will achieve both goals: addressing resource depletion and environmental pollution.
At a lower level, the circular economy focuses on the production processes of businesses by encouraging and requiring the adoption of cleaner production methods and eco-design.
At a high level, all stages of the production process are designed to be waste-free. Waste is minimized, reused, and recycled.
