The Provincial Center for Disease Control has a laboratory that meets ISO 15189:2012 standards in the field of biochemistry.

The health system is increasingly spacious and modern.

During the 70-year journey of construction and development, especially in the last 10 years, on the basis of inheriting and promoting the achievements, Thai Binh's health sector has innovated and developed strongly. The most obvious change is the appearance of many medical units. Facilities are considered one of the important pillars to help hospitals improve their position and better serve the people's needs for examination and treatment. This is also an important condition for hospitals to attract people to come for medical examination and treatment in the current context of autonomy. Therefore, hospitals are always interested in renovating, upgrading and repairing facilities.

With the investment of the province and counterpart funds from units, in recent years, many medical facilities in the province have been newly built and put into operation such as: City General Hospital, Dong Hung General Hospital building, Hung Nhan General Hospital... Medical facilities are increasingly spacious and clean, creating convenience for medical staff to work and bringing satisfaction to patients. Ms. Nguyen Thi Huyen (Dong Hung) shared: Compared to many years ago, I see that hospitals are now much more spacious and clean. At district hospitals, air conditioning is installed in patient rooms, making patients feel comfortable during treatment. This change has also been the desire of patients for many years.

Along with medical examination and treatment facilities, some medical units working in preventive medicine have also been invested in building facilities such as: Provincial Center for Disease Control, Tien Hai District Medical Center, in which the building of the Provincial Center for Disease Control has been invested in modern construction with a total area of 15,000m2 , with a laboratory meeting ISO 15189:2012 standards in the field of biochemistry; the quality management system for physical-chemical and microbiological testing meets ISO 17025:2017 standards. The Provincial Center for Disease Control has become the first medical unit in the province to achieve 2 ISOs. Thanks to investment in modern facilities and medical equipment, the Center can conduct testing of specimens of suspected cases of infectious diseases; Specialized techniques to serve the prevention of infectious and non-infectious diseases, contributing to effective control of diseases and risk factors from the environment, food, and domestic water sources.

Many advanced and specialized techniques are deployed.

Along with the infrastructure, improving the quality of human resources and developing high-tech and specialized techniques are also focused on by the health sector. Up to now, the whole province has more than 7,300 medical staff, including more than 1,620 doctors, nearly 500 nurses and pharmacists... The number of doctors/10,000 people reached 14 doctors/10,000 people, an increase of 5 doctors compared to 2015. Thanks to the quality of human resources, the health sector has deployed many high-tech techniques such as: open heart surgery, cardiovascular intervention, interventional radiology, assisted reproduction, stroke emergency...

The rate of patients being transferred to higher levels has decreased by about 3.5% per year. As the province's final-level hospital, the Provincial General Hospital has been ranked as a specialized hospital in terms of technical expertise. In the period 2020 - 2025, the Hospital has deployed nearly 300 new techniques, received the transfer of many advanced medical technologies from the central level, helping to improve the quality of treatment, reduce the burden on higher levels and strengthen people's trust in the provincial health system. Recently, the Provincial General Hospital has established 4 centers in the following specialties: oncology, cardiology, emergency - stroke, interventional radiology. At Thai Binh Children's Hospital, a resuscitation area for extremely premature newborns has also been established... In district-level general hospitals, there has also been a breakthrough in the development of high technology. People's Physician, Doctor Nguyen Trong Binh, former Director of Thai Binh Department of Health said: In the past 10 years, especially since the Covid-19 pandemic, the health sector has made many breakthroughs, improving the quality of treatment. The mark is not only in provincial hospitals but also in district hospitals. If in the past, only Tien Hai district had hospitals performing hemodialysis, now many district hospitals have been able to perform this technique. In addition, district hospitals have also been able to perform endoscopic surgeries. This shows that district general hospitals have made a strong transformation.

Towards smart and modern healthcare Mr. Pham Quang Hoa, Director of the Department of Health, said: Along with streamlining the apparatus to ensure efficiency, effectiveness and efficiency, the Thai Binh health sector is striving to achieve the goal of building and developing a network of medical facilities that are gradually modern and synchronous, ensuring balanced and harmonious development between medical examination and treatment and preventive medicine; improving people's health in terms of physical, mental, stature, longevity and quality of life; ensuring that all people are managed and cared for; building a fair, quality, synchronous and effective healthcare system; improving professional capacity for medical staff at all levels; ensuring that 100% of medical facilities deploy electronic health records and remote medical examination and treatment... To achieve the above goals, the health sector identifies digital transformation as one of the key solutions towards smart healthcare. This is considered a revolution in the medical field, comprehensively transforming the traditional medical system, bringing efficiency in caring for and protecting people's health.

Currently, some hospitals in the province have implemented remote medical consultation, deployed electronic health records, electronic medical records, and interconnected hospitals at higher levels to consult on difficult cases. In addition to maintaining and promoting the above activities, artificial intelligence will be applied in diagnosis and treatment. Digitalizing healthcare and developing smart healthcare will help reduce hospital overload, improve management efficiency, and facilitate people when examining and treating patients.
