COVID-19 situation in Vietnam

Since the beginning of the epidemic, Vietnam has had 11,610,724 infections, ranking 13th out of 231 countries and territories, while with the rate of infections per 1 million people, Vietnam ranks 120th out of 231 countries and territories (on average, there are 117,335 infections per 1 million people).

COVID-19 treatment situation

1. Number of patients recovered:

Patients announced cured in the day: 131 cases

Total number of cured cases: 10,637,654 cases

2. The number of patients on oxygen is 35, of which oxygen is given via mask: 25; high flow oxygen HFNC: 6; non-invasive ventilation: 3; invasive ventilation: 1; ECMO: 0

3. Number of deaths:

There were 0 deaths recorded on the day.

Average number of deaths recorded in the past 7 days: 0 cases.

The total number of deaths from COVID-19 in Vietnam to date is 43,206, accounting for 0.4% of the total number of infections.

Total deaths ranked 26th/231 territories, deaths per 1 million people ranked 141st/231 countries and territories in the world .

Compared to Asia, the total number of deaths ranks 7th/50 (ranked 3rd in ASEAN), deaths per 1 million people ranks 29th/50 countries and territories in Asia (ranked 5th in ASEAN).

COVID-19 vaccination status

On May 28, 2023, 78 doses of COVID-19 vaccine were injected.

Thus, the total number of vaccine doses injected is 266,406,399 doses, of which the number of doses injected for people aged 18 and over is 223,739,018 doses: 70,909,168 doses for the first dose; 68,455,652 doses for the second dose; 14,344,115 doses for the supplementary dose; 52,132,872 doses for the first booster dose; 17,897,211 doses for the second booster dose.

The number of doses for children aged 12-17 is 23,965,543 doses: 1st dose is 9,130,889 doses; 2nd dose is 9,021,366 doses; 1st booster dose is 5,813,288 doses.

Number of doses for children aged 5-11 is 18,701,838 doses: 10,227,642 doses for dose 1; 8,474,196 doses for dose 2.
