The 2nd Muong Ethnic Cultural Festival, 2025: Preserving identity, spreading cultural strength in the integration era

In order to preserve and promote the unique traditional cultural values ​​of the Muong ethnic group, from November 21 to 23, 2025, at the Vietnam National Village for Ethnic Culture and Tourism, the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism will organize the 2nd Muong Ethnic Cultural Festival with the theme "Preserving and promoting the cultural identity of the Muong ethnic group in the new era".

The Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism said that the festival will have the participation of artisans, actors and athletes from the provinces of Hanoi, Phu Tho, Lao Cai, Son La and Thanh Hoa - localities with a large population of Muong people. Many unique cultural, sports and tourism activities will be held such as: Mass art festival, gong performance, handicraft weaving, traditional costumes, photo exhibition, scientific seminar and folk games. Each activity is a vivid slice recreating the life, customs, soul and spirit of the Muong people in the flow of national culture.

The highlight of the program is the Opening Ceremony of the Festival associated with the Opening Ceremony of "Week of Great National Unity - Vietnamese Cultural Heritage" on the evening of November 21, demonstrating the spirit of great unity and close attachment between ethnic groups - the core value that creates the everlasting strength of the Vietnamese people.

Not only is it an occasion to honor and promote Muong cultural values, the festival also opens up a direction for connecting the development of community tourism and eco-tourism, contributing to promoting cultural exchange, attracting investment resources and sustainable development of Muong ethnic areas. Within the framework of the event, the Organizing Committee will organize a Famtrip delegation including travel agencies to survey Thanh Hoa, along with booths introducing typical cultural and tourism products.

The festival activities all emphasize the role of the community, encourage the creative participation of the Muong people in preserving, teaching and promoting traditional cultural values. This is a way to concretize the viewpoint of "preservation associated with development, development to preserve", in line with the policy of building an advanced Vietnamese culture, imbued with national identity in the period of deep international integration.
