Chinese Foreign Minister visits Vietnam

At the invitation of Deputy Prime Minister Tran Luu Quang, Mr. Wang Yi, Politburo member, Director of the Office of the Foreign Affairs Commission of the Communist Party of China Central Committee, and Minister of Foreign Affairs of China, will come to Vietnam to co-chair the 15th meeting of the Steering Committee for Vietnam-China Bilateral Cooperation from December 1 to 2.

In addition, it is expected that in Vietnam, Mr. Vuong Nghi will have activities such as greeting President Vo Van Tuong, General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong, participating in talks with the Foreign Minister, meeting with Secretary of the Party Central Committee, Head of the Central External Relations Commission Le Hoai Trung.

Mr. Wang Yi visited Vietnam in 2021.

According to VNA, since the beginning of 2023, senior leaders of the two Parties and two countries have continued to maintain regular exchanges and contacts.

Vietnamese Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh visited China twice and attended important multilateral conferences; Comrade Truong Thi Mai, Politburo member, Permanent member of the Secretariat, Head of the Central Organization Commission, and many other Politburo members of the Communist Party of Vietnam visited China.

When the situation is restored after the COVID-19 pandemic, the mechanism for meeting the heads of the two Parties' Politburo will also be restored and it is expected that in 2024, the two sides will continue to organize theoretical seminars and resume mechanisms for exchanging experiences in Party building and national management.

According to Chinese Ambassador to Vietnam Hung Ba, China and Vietnam are entering a new stage of development. Since China and Vietnam established a comprehensive strategic cooperative partnership (in 2008), over the past 15 years, the relationship between the two Parties and the two countries has maintained a trend of continuous development in a healthy and stable direction. The political trust between the senior leaders of the two Parties and the two countries of China and Vietnam has continuously deepened and been consolidated.
