On October 10, the first Ronald McDonald House in Vietnam, located at 496 Nguyen Cuu Phu (Tan Nhut Ward, Ho Chi Minh City) was put into operation. This house is located near the Ho Chi Minh City Children's Hospital and the Ho Chi Minh City Blood Transfusion and Hematology Center, sponsored by RMHC Vietnam (Ronald McDonald House Charities).
At the launching ceremony, Dr. Ho Tan Thanh Binh, Deputy Director of the City Children's Hospital, said that the hospital has been in operation for 8 years. On average, the hospital receives about 1,000 pediatric patients every day, of which up to 25% are severe and critical cases.

“Many families from far away provinces, with difficult economic conditions, have to temporarily put aside their work to stay and take care of their children during the treatment process. Therefore, this project is not only a place to help parents feel secure in taking care of their children, but also a practical support model, contributing to reducing the material and mental burden for families of sick children,” Dr. Ho Tan Thanh Binh expressed.

The Ronald McDonald House project was built with the goal of providing free, safe, clean and comfortable accommodation, along with full nutritional meals for families of children aged 0 to under 15 years old with difficult circumstances, who are receiving long-term treatment at the hospital.

Accordingly, the house can accommodate up to 15 families at a time, each room is fully equipped with basic amenities. In addition, there is a common living area, kitchen, living room and children's play area, creating a close, friendly space for families during their stay.
