Meeting with private enterprises in the field of science and technology

On May 12, the Provincial People's Committee organized a meeting with private enterprises in the field of science and technology. In his opening speech, Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Vuong Quoc Tuan emphasized that over the past time, the business community of Bac Ninh has continuously grown, many businesses have invested in research and development (R&D), applying new technological achievements such as artificial intelligence (AI), digital technology, biotechnology, automation, etc., contributing significantly to the process of modernizing production, increasing labor productivity and developing the knowledge economy in the area. In the period of 2020-2024, the number of newly established enterprises in Bac Ninh is on average 2,947 enterprises/year, the average annual increase in enterprises is about 10-15%, reflecting the investment attraction and confidence of the business community in the province's business environment.

In the context that the whole country is making efforts to implement major policies and orientations such as Resolution No. 57-NQ/TW of the Politburo on breakthroughs in science and technology development, innovation and national digital transformation, Resolution No. 68-NQ/TW of the Politburo on private economic development; organizing this program is not only meaningful in terms of exchange and connection, but also an opportunity for the Bac Ninh provincial government to show its support and sharing with the business community. At the same time, it is an important forum for the province to listen to opinions and suggestions from the practical operations of enterprises, promptly adjust and improve mechanisms and policies, promote public-private cooperation in research and development of science and technology; support enterprises to develop more strongly and sustainably in the coming time.

Within the framework of the program, managers, scientists, business leaders, experts inside and outside the province will discuss, propose solutions for development, application of science and technology, supply chain linkage and related support and incentive policies. At the same time, the Provincial People's Committee launched the Liaison Committee of Provincial Private Enterprise Associations including the Association of Enterprises of Electricity, Electronics and Semiconductors; Mechanical Engineering; Pharmaceuticals and High-Tech Food Processing. Launched the Liaison Committee of FDI Enterprise Associations in the fields of electronics and semiconductors; mechanical engineering. Bac Ninh province awarded investment certificates and approved the third phase of investment policies with a total investment capital of more than 856.1 million USD; and exchanged cooperation documents between a number of Vietnamese private enterprises - FDI. A number of enterprises supported the Venture Capital Fund for innovative startups, technology incubation, digital transformation, etc.

Deputy Prime Minister Nguyen Chi Dung highly appreciated Bac Ninh province's pioneering in organizing the Meeting with Private Enterprises in the field of science and technology. The Deputy Prime Minister said that this event demonstrates the determination to realize and immediately implement the spirit of Resolution 57 and Resolution 68. In the coming time, Bac Ninh province needs to urgently coordinate with Bac Giang province to build a new development orientation for Bac Ninh province; shape a model of knowledge-based economic development, high technology, modern services, associated with the vision of turning Bac Ninh into a center of knowledge services and innovation of the Extended Capital Region. Proactively propose pilot mechanisms and specific policies for the private economy and high technology development; promote digital government in administration and management. Build a transparent and fair business environment, develop high-quality human resources in conjunction with social security policies. Form a chain of links between domestic private enterprises and FDI enterprises; In which, large enterprises must play a leading role, supporting small and medium enterprises to access technology, capital, and improve their capacity to participate in the global supply chain. Pay attention to developing green, clean, modern industry based on science, technology, and innovation.

The Deputy Prime Minister said that with a series of policies set out by the Central Government on private economic development and science and technology, Bac Ninh enterprises need to take advantage of opportunities, boldly invest, form research and development centers, standardize governance, build brands, invest systematically in high-quality human resources; proactively participate in domestic and foreign supply chains. Actively carry out mergers and acquisitions with FDI enterprises because this is the shortest path, the fastest way to receive modern technology in the world. Believing that, with the joint efforts and consensus of the government and business community, Bac Ninh province will quickly break through and become the leading innovation center of the country.
