Mr. Nguyen Hong Minh, Deputy Director of Hanoi Department of Tourism, said that the organization of the program aims to promote and introduce Hanoi's tourist destinations, and is also a new experience to attract domestic and international tourists to Hanoi, thereby stimulating tourism demand.
"This is the first time the Hanoi tourism industry has organized an ao dai parade. We hope it will be an annual activity on the occasion of the September 2nd holiday, creating an elegant beauty, honoring the traditional ao dai of Vietnam, civilizing with green means of transport to protect the environment and attracting tourists to Hanoi," said Mr. Minh.
Ms. Le Thi Mi (residing in Hoan Kiem District, Hanoi), a member of the Ao Dai parade, assessed that this is a very meaningful program, helping to promote the image of Vietnamese Ao Dai and preserve the traditional cultural identity of the nation.
"Today I wear the five-panel ao dai - the traditional ao dai of our people in the past, I feel very meaningful," said Ms. Mi.
